The Stockholm Open is played Indoors on an extremely fast plexipave surface, the prizes are for 660,000€ and the winner receives 250 ATP points. The balls used are Tretorn.
After Davydenko's win in Shanghai this tournament becomes 'vital' for Robin Soderling who reached the final last year losing to Nalbandian because he needs every point now in order to qualify for London, therefore he needs to defend the points he gained with last year's final and he probably wants to win in front of his people.
Draw is relatively poor, Haas is coming from a retirement in Shanghai and should be avoided at least for the first couple of rounds until he proves he is fit, Melzer and Petzschner pulled out while Wild Cards have been given to home hero Joachim Johansson and to Bulgarian rising (or not?!) star Grigor Dimitrov.
The Kremlin Cup sees a prize money of 1,080,000$ and awards 250 ATP points to the winner. It is played Indoors on what players said is a very slow and inconsistent surface (afaik), therefore clay courters would have a small edge on pure hard courters who are used to a more consistent bounce.
Not sure why Davydenko is even here. He has no points to defend and this will be the 4th week in a row he is playing in 3 different timezones. Youzhny has a fantastic draw down low which should see him in the final without even losing a set and who knows, maybe Igor Andreev might come back to the living Tennis players in this tournament as the surface and the conditions should suit him perfectly. Korolev and Golubev are 2 players to watch as they gave some signs of life lately while Davydenko is a player to avoid this week as we all know what his habits used to be...
Last year Igor Kunitsyn won the event beating Marat Safin in the final.

Pim Pim with a wildcard for Stockholm is all I want to see.
How is it going buddy? Yes, it will be a good one. If he got better physically he could go all the way...I remember he dominated Hewitt and Gasquet for 2/3 of the match before running out of gas. I don't trust Feliciano Lopez nor Haas and apart from these 2 there are a bunch of nobodies down low. We'll see.
Not that I am very confident in this one, however this price is completely ridiculous considering the draw. Igor Andreev to win the tournament is offered at 22 to 1 now on Betfair which means he is given less than 5% chances. He played poorly the entire season and can't be trusted however at this price I am throwing some money on him to win the all thing. If he wants to play and plays anywhere near his standards he will dispatch easily Ginepri and his junkballs, Granollers and Gicquel or Tipsarevic plus as I said I don't trust Davydenko this week (his theoretical opponent for the semifinal) therefore I will gladly take this price for a small amount. I am betting Igor Andreev to win Kremlin Cup to win 10 Units (risking less than 0.5 Units).
I don't like any match tomorrow, too many clowns playing and too many question marks across the board.

Yea, this Starace/Donskoy match looks like a complete mismatch based solely on rankings. But I'm guessing Starace is only at -172 is because his opponent has home court advantage and he's not very good at all on hard court, but TC did say that this surface might favour clay courters such as Starace. So all in all, I'm confused about this one too. :p

The Starace match is one to stay far away from. I will monitor the odds in play for that one with curiosity. Donskoy has beaten some quality opponents Indoors in the past like Udumchoke and Korolev and took sets against some other dangeorus ones, however I have never seen him play I admit.
Moreover, Donskoy has opened at +230 and he is now at +150, Starace was already suspended for gambling on Tennis matches in the past and this year there was a match early in the season against German Daniel Brands who was extremely suspicious.
Let's not forget that a few years ago a Top class player like Novak Djokovic said that he was offered 220k to lose a first round match in Russia. When these events are low prize you have to be extremely careful what you bet on especially for the first round because players would make less than 5 digits figures winning the match but they could be offered a shitload more to throw the match.
Dodgy players in the Kremlin Cup are: Davydenko, Istomin, Vassallo Arguello, Tipsarevic, Starace and Hanescu. My advice is to leave those blokes alone during minor events especially if they are played in Russia...
