Sevilla: I declare myself a fan of Sampaoli and strongly believe the Barça job is his to turn down next year. He can deny it all he wants, but he knows this is in the horizon after Luis Enrique's statement about leaving the club after this season. Sampaoli strikes me as the type of man who wants to leave a lasting impression (even if he may have his mind set in Barcelona) and he wants to do everything for this Sevilla side this year. Unfortunately in that attempt, he has fatigued his side as they enter crucial stages in both La Liga and UCL.

For the first time in my recent memory, he actually tried to rest some of his key figures in his last home match vs Leganes thinking ahead to this UCL match and hoping to go past the 17th ranked team in La Liga. That didn't pan out as he ended up bringing N'Zonzi to play the full 2nd half and Iborra to play 20 minutes and still couldn't break the tie with Leganes (Vitolo was fully rested for this match). It's noteworthy to say that Leganes' goal came as a result of an unforced error by Clement Lenglet in the early stages of the match. Sevilla did control the possession afterwards, but Leganes shot as many times as Sevilla did (12). That should worry any Sevilla fan.
This will be Sevilla's 7th game in the last 24 days (1 game every 3.43 in AVG) and to make matter worse, they have to travel to Madrid 5 days from now to visit Atletico who sits 5 points behind them in the table.
Leicester City: Not counting the FA Cup, you had to go back to December 31st of 2016 to find LC's last win in the EPL which came at home vs West Ham. Hard to argue with the sacking of Ranieri after those results all of 2017. However, as bad a form as they were in, they came up with a brilliant result in Sevilla. Actually, I lost money in that game thinking Sevilla would annihilate them and just when the bet was almost won with the 2-0, along came Jamie Vardy and scored for LC ending something crazy like 350+ minutes without a shot on goal in all competitions or something like that (I vaguely remember from the broadcast).
When Vardy is at his best, The Foxes have life and I believe he's back at that level. 5 days after this clash, it was the time to welcome Shakespeare as the manager, and Vardy scored twice vs Liverpool, then had an assist vs Hull City. More importantly, you could sense a certain belief in the squad that they could get better and finish this season in a better fashion than it seemed they were destined to under Ranieri. That belief translated to electric atmospheres at the King Power Stadium. Even luck smiled back at them when in the Hull City game the 3rd goal was a Hull unlikely own goal from a corner kick. Since that Sevilla game, LC has hosted 2 matches and won them convincingly (3-1 vs Liverpool & 3-1 vs Hull City); whereas Sevilla has played 4 matches winning 2 and drawing 2, but looking like they've lost a step in the last 2 matches (1-1 draws @ Alaves and vs Leganes). I think lady luck is smiling at them again sending in a fatigued Sevilla side that seems to be on a downward slope for this match. After sacking Ranieri, Leicester shook off the pressure of having to play to a certain championship-standard and declared to the football world, "we're hoping to salvage this season by staying in the BPL and starting over next year." Funny how that has actually turned things around fairly quickly for them.
Give me the team with nothing to lose anymore at home in front of a crowd who's ready to keep on celebrating after the type of year they've had until the manager change. Leicester City 3-1 Sevilla.

I like this alternative lineup for Borussia Dortmund. They're thinking of taking care of the back first keeping the likes of Burki, Bartra, Piszczek, Ginter, and Schmelzer. I was going to back the over thinking this could end up 3-1, but now I'm not sure Lotte will score. I'll back a 3-0 win by Dortmund.

I was hoping for a goal in the 1st half, but was not expecting much more than that.. Usually the better teams flex their muscles in the second half of these cup games vs lower-league opposition.

ReltubE - I'm certainly hoping so.. The key will be if the first goal happens before the 20th minute mark, I'll feel pretty confident about it. We'll see.. BOL!

Juve can be heralded as a defensive side and while they are very good at their defense, they're not a side that won't score even when they don't have to. FC Porto's good news is that they don't have to deal with the away goal headache.. They gave 2 and score none.. so in their head, it's a win by 2 to extend the game if won by nil, any other score where they win by 2, they'll advance. The bad news is they have to go to Turin and attack a Juve side that will feature Cuadrado, Dybala, Mandzukic, and Pipita Higuain in the attacking half.
That's too much firepower for the counter attack. Plus, I don't think Juve will come out and just hand the ball over to Porto, they'll make their usual home game as they have through out the "I'm-not-even-sure-how-many games they've won at home in a row"
