My appetite for football today has been hampered severely by learning that our top striker di Santo just left the team for € 6(!!) million to join Schalke 04 - and that on the traditional day of the fans. He signed autographs for two hours and then left in a car, see you. That is the cruel business for you. Anyways, on to today.
2nd Bundesliga
FSV Frankfurt-RB Leipzig,
Leipzig THE favorite for promotion, the squad is way too good for the 2nd Bundesliga. To illustrate, we had no chances to keep our 19 year old striker Selke, Leipzig (backed by Red Bull) bought him for around 8-10 millions. Leipzig is living the offensive style of play, especially with new coach Rangnick, we should see many over games so the odds here have value in my view. Leipzig to win in a game that sees several goals.
Leipzig ML @ 1.99 (1/10)
Over 2.5 @ 2.10 (1/10)
3rd Bundesliga
Aalen-Chemnitz
Aalen lost most of their squad and will have no easy year in third league, whereas Chemnitz retained their players and made a few good signings here and there, they are considered contenders for promotion. I love the over here but also like Chemnitz to win it.
Over 2.25 @ 2.05 (2/10)
Chemnitz ML @ 2.83 (1/10)
Club Friendly
Werder Bremen-FC Sevilla
I would have staked around 5-8 units if it wasn't for the di Santo transfer, but this game means a whole lot more to Bremen than to Sevilla. The day of the fans is a longstanding tradition that ends with a friendly against an international top team. Bremen usually fields their top squad for around 70 minutes, then starts to make substitutions. It is of high concern for them not to lose the game. To illustrate, last year we hosted Chelsea and beat them 3-0. Werder co-manager Frings said he had no idea whether Sevilla would have any interest in this game or whether they would play with a reserve squad. In any event, Bremen is way further in the pre-season and should take this, despite all the disappointment about di Santo leaving.
