Frankfurt played well and they should have won the game against Mainz. Well, I'm still in the plus for the season and I hope my big play cashes this weekend.
Stuttgart vs. Hannover
Stuttgart is a mess for some years now. Coaches come and go and early this week they fired their manager Bobic. Explaining the problems of this club would be a quite long story. Even though they have a great conditions and surroundings, they weren't able to get on the right track. Stuttgart is the synonym for inconsistency. The leading people usually talk about europe in summer just to find themselves in another crisis by september and october. The team is young and quite talented. They have good youth teams with a lot of potential. But they lack of the leadership.
Stuttgart has 2 points after 5 matches - 17th in the Bundesliga. The club is in another crisis, the fans are frustrated, the manager is fired. After the point in Dortmund, I see them in a terrific spot this weekend. They usually play much better at home. The fans will stand behind their team (maybe one last time). Stuttgart simply can't afford another loss at home. Against a mediocre team. Hannover is third at the moment, but they are not more than mediocre. And even less than this when they play on the road.
This is a MUST WIN for Stuttgart. I don't care who they are playing. A stronger opponent would have been better. We would get a better line and Stuttgart always play better against quality teams. So in case they really lose and the fans break with the own team, I already circled the match in Week 8 - at home against Leverkusen (Leverkusen in a look ahead spot with Zenit St. Petersburg on deck in the Champions League). Stuttgart will win one of these two matches.
Stuttgart ML (+108) - 4 Units
Stuttgart-1 (+204) - 1 Unit
Friday game: Mainz vs. Hoffenheim
I usually hate backing road teams in the Bundesliga. But I really like the odds we get for Hoffenheim. Mainz at home is solid and we might see a tie. But Hoffenheim is worth a shot. Especially if we can win half of our wager when they tie.
Hoffenheim +0.25 - 1.5 Units
I might have some more plays for the weekend. Will post them closer to game time. Good luck everyone

Dirk, Hoffenheim have played with real conviction this year. Still scoreless at the half, but they have had the better chances. I know Stuttgart got a great result at Dortmund last week, but I'm not so sure they are suddenly a great team. I was actually leaning to Hannover at long odds, but it will look again.

0-0 between Mainz and Hoffenheim in a quite boring match. Half push and half won, I take it.
same to you, zamigo
@emduece: I would stay away from Schalke/Dortmund and Cologne/Bayern Munich Overs. I guess at least one of them will go Under. But the rest...why not. Bundesliga saw four 1-0 on Wednesday. And a 0-0 today. There should be some richer games this weekend.
@franz: Don't get me wrong. There are far away from being a great team. I simply take them because of the situation they are in. They need a win in front of their home crowd desperately. If they don't win, they will come home late. Because the fans will block the garage of the stadium Hannover is usually a terrible road team. But well, I can be wrong. I just expect a reaction from Stuttgart.

i am thinking of playing dortmund ml tomorrow. i know this is a big derby rivalry road game and dortmund is the more public team, but after schalke wins 3-0 on the road and dortmund ties 2-2 on the home dortmund is still favored? i feel like dortmund is still the only play here, maybe even a big one. what do you think?

I don't really know what to expect from the Schalke/Dortmund derby. Often these matches are about fighting and defending. Neither team wants to make mistakes. Especially with Dortmund playing on the road, they usually have a more conservative style there. I think Klopp would even sign a tie tomorrow.
Dortmund doesn't play well these days, and so does Schalke. Both have many injured/suspended players, some of them key players (mkhitaryan, reus, höwedes, draxler), just to name a few. Without that many players missing, it's really hard to predict anything. I lean towards Dortmund...but at these odds on the road? I don't know. I thought it would be at around +120/+130. The total at O/U 3 seems right. I think we will see a 1-1 or 2-1. I guess the luckier team wins.

Leverkusen in a bad spot looking ahead to their Champions League match versus Benfica. I think the CL is already in their heads. The match against Benfica is a must win for them after losing against Monaco. But it's not only about fading Leverkusen. I think Freiburg can give them a real fight in front of their home crowd. They played well the last couple of games (3-3 in Hoffenheim, 2-2 against Berlin, 0-0 against Gladbach...in two of these matches they led until the 90th minute) and now they could reward themselves with three points. I think Freiburg has a chance to win outright, but I will take them +0.5.
Freiburg +0.5 - 1.5 Units
I also like Bremen +1 and X in the Dortmund/Schalke derby. But i will probably stay away from both.

Great Weekend with cashing my big play and both standard plays.
Adding for now:
Hamburg vs. Frankfurt
Match starts in 20 minutes, so not a lot time to explain. I simply believe that Hamburg wins the first match this season. They have a new coach, play at home and Frankfurt is a good opponent to get a solid win.

the bundesliga seemed to be raining goals last season, but it doesn't seem to be the case so far in this young season... any thoughts as to why this is? teams shored up defense, injuries, etc ?

Goals/Game Season 12/13: 2.93
Goals/Game Season 13/14: 3.16
Goals/Game Season 14/15: 2.53
Looking at the numbers, there's really a difference to see (0.5 goals less per game compared to the previous two years). But I wouldn't overestimate this development. We have only seen 6 matchdays so far. Yes, there were less goals, but I expect the number to increase and finally to come close to what we have seen in 12/13 and 13/14.
The only thing I observe is that the top teams in the league (Bayern, Dortmund, Leverkusen, Gladbach, Schalke, Wolfsburg) haven't really found themselves. All of these teams have to integrate new player and that usually affects the offense more than the defense. Another factor is the World Cup: Teams didn't have a lot of time for preparation.
Bayern scored 19 goals in 6 matches in the season 12/13, Dortmund scored 16 goals in 6 matches in 13/14. This year Bayern scored the most goals in the league - 11 goals. That means Bayern has not even scored two goals per game.
Teams struggle offensively at the beginning of this season. But I can't see this trend going on. Teams will get better and so will their offenses. I think the number of goals per match will increase, especially in the second half of the season.
