Will likely see a similar game as France-Nig---> Nigeria close but tentative feet and misfires to get the early goal, or pull his body away from the defender too ear;ly with a body lean....also MENTAL MISTAKES, such as tapping a corner cross with one hand instead of blasting it out, or an own goal. African teams usu fade away with mental mistakes, but there will be a little bit of help from the refs. ANYTHING close will go against Algeria, and the benefit of any doubt to go the Euro squads' way (as in the offsides and THE HUGE NO CALL OF THE BLATANT PUSH ON THE NIGERIAN CORNER WHEN THE DEFENDER HELD HIM AND CARRIED HIM 5 YARDS FROM HIS SPOT. Nice no call, and no PK. First goal would've been huge. Look for refs to NOT benefit Algeria at all.
Germany too technically sound, and will find ways to score. Look for a 2-0 result early, and a 4-1 rout.
Germany vs France
Party is over for the frenchies, and dii what they aways do in times of heated battle.

JUST ONCE--I'd like to see a European squad OVERCOME a call that doesn't go their way, and still win. Just once, not have every borderline call go their way. Every FLOP is a pk or an offsides. They are laughing to the bank, and FIFA is quite content with the referees. A call against a Euro squad ould put ANY referee under scrutiny and peer review.

Yeah, that bear hug NO CALL, in France's 18, was ridiculous. And that offsides call on the cross was WEAK. It's pretty obvious sometimes, and that's just one of many things that makes futbol frusterating ...

agreed though i don't think a 4-1 rout would be in the cards. Algeria will play similar to USA in my opinion with maybe a bit more possession. if they come out firing they will be super prone to being thin at the back and the Germans have the height on them should any set pieces take shape in order to stop a German counter.
on the other hand, Germany knows what it takes to get through and I don't think that the Algerian strikers are all that bad so they could create opportunities. Neuer in goal is going to be the big difference to me but I can't see the Germans netting 4.
either way i agree that they are the better side and should advance if they keep focus.

Do you seriously thing the refs are biased towards European teams in the World Cup? That last ref in the France/NIgeria game was actually American.
The ref who hosed Costa Rica yesterday in the game against Greece was Australian.
I do not get it.
Agree! I had no wagers on the France/Nigeria game, but it was very clear the refs were biased towards Nigeria. Can't even fathom how somebody could suggest they were favoring France.

Dude Europe is superior to all of the other teams with the exception of Argentina, and that's even a stretch. They have to trip and tackle to stay with the likes of Germany, Netherlands and France. Refs cut them a lot of slack until enough is enough. (Mexico vs Netherlands).

TY for the popular opinion. Massive opinion is easy to share dude, even in sports.
Yankees are great, too and the Dodgers.
U also like Kardashian and Justin Bieber. U eat at McDonalds, drink coke, shop at Walmart.

Weren't you the one that said Netherlands would 'pound the beans'?

Small wager in game for Algeria to qualify wasted my winnings.
I was right about the refs helping out Germany early to keep goals off the board--offsides call was narrowlly off, but enough for the ref to hoist the flag.
France v. Germany now. Great to see that one. I hope germany breaks out goals, goals, GOALS.

My thoughts exactly, except I will probably be betting on France, as this is a coinflip match. Also, I'm pretty sure he will be betting on Germany, as he has a strong disrespect for France.
I personally thought France played one of the most tactically clinical matches of all of these knockout rounds. They played very conservatively (as many of the favorites have) for the first 70 minutes or so, and at that point Nigeria had exhausted themselves trying to get the goal they needed (unsuccessfully). From that point on, it was total domination, and it was just a matter of time before France got the decisive goal.
Too many people look at these matches and just don't understand what is happening, because they are pissed off that the better team doesn't score more goals... but France knew what it was doing, and that match was rather clinical!
I am impressed with them more than Germany, simply because France is able to put together a better attack when the time comes.
This is by far the best match of the WC so far, and could easily have been the Finals if these teams were on opposite sides of the bracket. I fully expect the winner to be playing in the finals, and will most likely be betting on whoever wins to beat Brazil (most likely).
