Roma v Sampdoria over 2.5 -105 2 units
Two team that have played over 2.5 in 5 of their last 8 head to head meetings with 3 of those games eclipsing 3.5 goals. Thisvenue has also been home to most of the goals between these two in the aforementioned results .. 3 of the 4 played here have gone over 2.5 and 2 of them have seen 4 goals.
Roma is at the top of the table and is playing outstanding football to start the season. They are starting to click on offense and should have no trouble filling the net here. I think Sampdoria can score here which helps the over.
Roma has gone 5-1 “over” in their last 6 ROAD games vs. bottom 6 clubs with 4 of those 5 games seeing 4 or more goals.
Irrespective of venue, the over 2.5 is 7-3 in Roma’s last 10 games overall against bottom 6 clubs with 6 of those games going over 3.5. One of those was this season’s dispatch of Parma by a 3-1 margin.
To start the season Sampdoria is 3-1 over 2.5 including a pair of 2-2 draws and a 3-0 loss to Bologna.Roma has started the season 2-2 over 2.5.
The price seems short on Roma today but consider that Roma has only won 2 of the last 8 head to head meetings between these two.3 draws and 3 losses make up the remainder of the games.
Spreadsheets forecast almost 4 goals in this game but one did come back with a 2-2 result and given the way that Roma has found it tough to beat Sampdoria in the past, I would much rather pass the side and play the total in this one.
Here’s an interesting tidbit for you. This is the fourth time in their club history that Roma has started a Serie A campaign with four straight wins. They have never won 5 games to start a season in their history.
More to follow as I go through them and run my sheets.

The over is 6-4 in the last 10 head to head meetings between these clubs but more interesting to me is that it is 4-1 over 2.5 in the last 4 meetings at Bologna. 3 of those have gone over 3 goals.
The situation in Milan is chaotic to say the least with the fan base demanding wins and starting to demand change. The defense corps remains depleted with many a player in the injury list and Balotelli is out for this game due to suspension but I am not too concerned about that for this game. With 4 points from their first 4 games, Allegri, known to take desperate measures in desperate times, which is why as a Milan fanatic I can’t stand his coaching tactics is likely to do something to make this game chaotic.
I’m not so sure that Matri and Balotelli were working well together as strikers to begin with.I think they work better alone and today is Matri’s chance to show that.
Don’t ask me for an outcome because my spreadsheets and form charts are all over the place in this match. However, all 4 data runs came back at 3 or more goals.Considering that Milian needs to take the 3 points from this match and will as a result, leave the back exposed, a depleted back that is, I can see both teams scoring in this game in what should be an entertaining game.
Bologna is 3-1 over 2.5 to start the year while Milan is 4-0 over 2.5 to star the year.Today is not the day to go against those trends for a team desperate to find 3 points playing with a weakened defense.

Fever what do you think of Toulouse (ranked 15th) vs Lorient (ranked 14th) Lorient has lost every game on the road this season and haven't scored a single goal! Toulouse played already against Monaco and Marseille (ranked first and 2nd) and the result was 2 draws, also they won last week on the road against St Etienne (ranked 5th) so I think Toulouse has more confidence at the moment. But recent history shows that when Toulouse plays vs Lorient there aren't much goals scored, so a draw is also a possibility. Anyways I don't see Toulouse losing and just wanted to share this one and see what your opinion is.

Sevilla is in a current stretch now that has seen them go over 2.5 goals in 9 of their lat 10 games overall and going back further, 15-5 “over” 2.5 in their last 20 home games. That’s a 75% angle over a 20 game sample that cannot be ignored along side the 90% angle over the past 10 home games for the struggling squad.
R. Vallecano have seen their last 5 road games eclipse 2.5 goals with 3 of those games hitting 5 goals which included 5-0 losses to Malaga and Atletico Madrid.
Both teams sit in the bottom 6 of the table. So I did a quick data search on how both teams have fared when opposing teams in the bottom 6 of the table.
Sevilla have seen 14 of their last 15 HOME games V BOTTOM 6 TEAMS reach 3 goals or more. (93%) and 5 of their last 7 at home v bottom 6 teams hit 4 or more goals.
As for R. Vallecano, ON THE ROAD v Bottom 6 teams has seen them go 7-8 “over 2.5 goals in their last 15 in that spot.
So what’s going to give here? The fact that R. Vallecano have conceded 10 goals in their last 2 road games is very concerning especially in light of the fact hat Sevilla has scored 7 goals in their last 3 games which included a 4-3 home win over Valencia. They also managed to net a goal against a very good Atletico Madrid side in those 3 games.
I don’t see either side keeping a clean sheet in this game. Both teams are in the bottom two of the league and need to start winning in order to avoid falling deeper into the relegation zone. It doesn’t seem a like a big deal now but with the log jam at the bottom of the table, a win can move each club up to at least 12th place in the table and because there are so many teams on 3 points clogging up the bottom third of the table, a los won’t be devastating at this point of the season so there is really no reason why both teams won’t be out looking for the full 3 points which should result in a fairly open and attack minded game.
Sevilla club president Jose Angel has already whispered out loud that he may consider a managerial change if the club doesn’t start to improve its form and with this very winnable game against second last place Vallecano I can see Sevilla going all out for the win here. They will leave gaps at the back for the visitors to exploit as a result.
When Vallecano played Barcelona manager Jemez opted to play two holding midfielders. Yes the lost 4-0, however that formation and lineup allowed the squad to play a higher line and press further into the offensive end. This caused Barcelona problems and actually created quite a few chances for them. I wouldn’t be surprised if the same tactics are used for this match that they also consider winnable.

Didn't Roma have a coach for several years that played all offense and no defense? If so, does that distort any of the historical records?
Not when I look at the Sampdoria has played this season and the way Roma can score. Spreadsheets are based on current data and they concur with the historical situational trends.

Better odds in my view considering I project a 2 goal victory for Lazio in my spreadsheets. This also protects against Catania scoring a fluke goal.
Lazio have scored at least 2 goals in their last 4 serie A matches. Going back further, they have scored 2 or more in 13 of their last 20 home games
Catania have conceded at least 2 goals in their last 3 road league matches and they have also conceded at least 2 goals in 12 of their last 20 road games including 2 or more in 5 of their last 7 road games.
Where it gets appealing is that in their last 10 games against bottom 6 opposition, Lazio has scored 2 or more goals in 7 of those games. (70%)
Catania have conceded 2 or more goals in 9 of their last 10 road games playing teams in the top half of the table. (90%)

Milan has dominated Bologna over the years and give the team is depleted but still has superior talent over the hosts, I look for Milan to get a very importan win. I have runn my spreadsheets with he starting lineups and my total is still on track along with a Milan victory. (Remember, preliminary spreadsheet runs before starters are known are based on projected lineups.... this final one was based on confirmed starters)
