Okay so returned from a very interesting day, football in Indonesia is crazy. The game was scheduled to start at 3.30 but it actually ended at around 6 - due to several interruptions. Fans started lighting fireworks and throwing them on the pitch while being insanely loud. A very interesting experience and I am glad I went, although it was a bad idea to bet money (0-2 -3 Units). However I didn't even have to pay entrance fee since the people there were more concerned about avoiding the stadium to boil over. In the end I saw a mediocre game, it was more interesting to see what happened next to the pitch than on the pitch.
Today:
Maribor-Pilsen, Pilsen -0.5 @ 1.91 (2/10)
Sociedad-Olympique Lyonnais, Sociedad -0.5 @ 2.00 (3/10)
Celtic Glasgow-Karaganda, Celtic Over 6.5 Corners @ 1.65 (2/10)
I rarely play prop bets like this corner bet with Celtic but overall I am very disappointed by this Celtic team, no matter who they were playing they had difficulties to score. They are "better" than Karaganda without a doubt and with their fans in their stadium cheering them in front of the goal I believe Celtic will be pressing almost throughout the entire game. This will very likely result in a lot of corners (I see them getting 10 or more). The question is will they also convert their chances and I am not 100% sure so I stay away from picking a side or the total and rather focus on corners in this one.
Real Sociedad still somewhat flying under the radar while Lyon still lives of the time they were dominating the French soccer landscape year after year. Sociedad were dominant in the first leg and sit in a comfortable position but that won't mean that they will focus on defense only, because why would they? They are playing at home and have gained enough confidence to go for the win themselves. We saw yesterday how a 0-2 away lead all of the sudden can't be so secure anymore (although Austria Vienna ultimately advanced). Lyon especially in the international games were posing little threat to opponents' goals and knowing their situation they will have to attack right from the beginning. This in turn will provide more chances to the in my view better team of them two, so the logical result to me is another win for Sociedad. This could be the beginning of another golden era for Real Sociedad, since they are in a financially solid situation and always were able to bring out great talents - in fact San Sebastian is ranking 6th in the amount of Spanish players for the national team.
I employ a similar logic in the Maribor-Pilsen game. Although you heard this phrase a thousand times - Pilsen just is the better team, their players are better than Maribor who themselves can be glad to have gotten so far. Of course they are highly motivated at home and will therefore risk a lot, but ultimately this will just provide even more chances to Pilsen than in the home game and there is no reason for Pilsen not to go safe and try to close out this game as soon as possible. Over could also be a good pick but whenever I pick an over it always seems to go under, so I will not play the over here and let you guys cash safely on it.
BOL everybody!
