While i was at the sportsbook today, one of the larger bettors placed 2500 on the Aus/Serbia over and 2500 on the Italy/Slovakia over.
I tailed him on the first over and sweated it out, but won. Anyone have any thoughts on the Italy/Solvakia over. im not a soccer guru like Vanzack by any means, so all info is appreciated

I think one of Slovakia's forwards is out with a red card so I am kinda doubtful they'll go off and Italy? They never have any offense even when they win they rarely score over 2 goals. Maybe this guy you tailed knows his stuff though so far so good for him. I'll be on the under myself.

Italy's notorious for playing very conservatively in opening round play. that said, there may not be much room for that kind of soccer tomorrow. Italy can make it in with a draw, but 100% solidifies itself with a win. These big name teams typically step it up in the 3rd game of group stage "must win" scenarios. I see the Italian defense keeping a clean sheet, and scoring a goal themselves. I just don't see Slovakia scoring. Also, if Italy goes up 1-0 and Slovakia presses for a goal, gets countered and goes down 2-0, I highly doubt there will be any scoring from that point on. Italy is not out to make any statements right now, European teams of their stature typically save themselves for the next round (i.e. Germany and England winning 1-0 today).

it's a coinflip though, because with all 4 teams still alive and both games going on at the same time crazy shit can happen. I was on under 2.5 in the serbia game today, got 77 scoreless minutes, and a 15 minute span that had 3 goals in it. can't accurately predict (at least time-wise) what will happen in the paraguay match that will motivate Italy and Slovakia to play a certain way.
--Best case scenario for under backers is for Paraguay to score early/that match to remain scoreless for a while, and Italy will play SUPER conservative, waiting for a 0-0 or 1-0 final.
--Best case scenario for over backers is for New Zealand to score early, because then Italy will play knowing that they have absolutely no choice but to score at least a goal.
