My family is split between the Jets and Giants.  Sucks that my favorite color is green and not blue.  The only reason why I became a Jets fan at 4 years old.  They sucked my entire childhood so this is nothing new to me.

I still haven't been to MetLife yet.  Live about 5 miles away from the stadium too.

I hope you're right about those 7 wins; maybe 1 against the Dolphins or Pats.

Hey Van if we all had free healthcare do you think the care would be top notch?

i have no idea what owning a house or a car has to do with critical medical care for children, but as to your other point, two of the wealthiest 25 countries don't have universal healthcare for its people.  us and saudi arabia.  that's great company we are keeping.

this makes sense.  it's a media conspiracy.   i used to think that if my kids or myself or other people in my family got sick and needed to come up with a shitload of money we might not have to pay for treatment for them, they should just suck it up and go without treatment.  then i saw some stories on the news and it changed my mind.

I hear what Clubdirt, Scal and Van are saying but as a guy who lives in a country where healthcare is free, There are many downsides as well, More patients, Less appointment times, More malpractice and staff shortage etc etc It's not the rosy picture that it's painted out to be.

I'm sure the quality of healthcare diminishes as well.  Doctors aren't paid as much.

It's easy for me to say because I'm young and healthy.  I've had been covered my entire life through my parents, then college and my employers since graduation.

Exactly.

Now, think about this, would you feel then same way if you had a birth deficit?  How would you feel about being in a wheelchair your entire life?

Would you, could you, "walk in those shoes?"

C'mon, say it, tell the truth, I know you can.

How would you feel?

This.

All of these "healthcare is a privilege" people are all one illness away from a bankruptcy, or a family member suffering, or worse.  It just hasnt happened to them yet, and for some defective reason they have the inability to have empathy.

Imagine your child being born needing a medication that costs 100k a year.  Now imagine that this newborn, because he is born with a pre-existing condition will at the very least suffer a great deal under your privileged only healthcare system - and at worst you will be bankrupt and the kid will suffer.

Now try to answer Goose's question.  How would it feel?

you and goose don't get it.  come up with whatever sad hypothetical you want.  but how would YOU feel if trumpcare does not pass and sick kids and others with preexisting conditions get to have health insurance they otherwise could not afford but ultra rich people don't get the tax cut they expected when trump won?   empathy goes both ways.

Sorry ClubDirt it's YOU that doesn't get it.

You have one foot and four toes on a banana peel and don't realize that an illness or accident or tragedy or whatever can strike you down at any time.

Somebody runs a red light at your intersection and

BAM

you're outta here.

Get it?

Got it?

Good.

People saying that if someone is opposed to Obamacare that they are somehow opposed to a baby having access to life saving medicine is as stupid as that same person saying that if you support Trump you are a racist.

this is for trumpcare 1.0.  apparently, trumpcare 2.0 is supposed to be worse but apparently, they won't release it in time to be analyzed by the cbo (just in time for the average trump supported to be analized by it).  this is your last chance to show some empathy for the top 2% wealthiest people who need a tax cut, even if it's at the expense of poor, middle class and elderly who would rather have medical care.  show some compassion, goose.

Sorry Club.  Sometimes I've been known to bark at the moon.  Know what I mean?  Being 60 years old and retired is definitely NOT what it's made out to be... "The Golden Years".  Whoever came up with that terminology is FOS.

Not only dealing with our 23 year old handicapped son but also dealing with my 92 year old mother and my 90 year old father.  So you can see why the subject of Health Care sends me off the wall.

People work their entire lives expecting to leave money for their Offspring and Grandchildren.  And what happens?  The Corporate Fukks and the States rip everything off on their way out the door.

By the time I pay estate taxes there is like ZERO left.

Beautiful.  Just fukking beautiful.  Just went through this with my Mother and Father in law and now get to experience this again with my Mom and Dad.  Got my own money, that's not the point, but it's the emotional aspect that is devastating.

Can't wait to get through with all the BS and get onto living my life again.

so you think a kid can who needs surgery for cancer or any number of other fatal conditions people might get and just walk into the hospital and have them do it without insurance?

don't take this the wrong way lovethedough, but that's the f8cking dumbest post members of this site will see on this issue now and forever.  and by "don't take this the wrong way", i mean, don't take it any other way but that you posted the dumbest friggin thing anyone here has read on this issue.
