You know the razor that the guy from Pawn Stars promotes?
Well, my wife bought one for me today as a result of my complaining about the MACH3 that I have used for years. I am of the opinion that the Mach3 has gone to a cheaper blade which simply isn't as good as in previous years.
So I get in the shower, which is where I shave, with my new One razor, and I put the new device to use. Immediately I realize something is not going well ... instead of shaving the hairs it seems to be pulling my beard out one hair at a time.
As facial hair goes, I am about average. Not too hairy, but I can grow a beard. After all the beard hair that was just pulled out of my face, the growing a beard part might be in question.
I'm not easily discouraged, so I start to adjust the angles at which I held the painful device, and to a small degree the pulling lessened, but the cutting was nonexistent. It was then that I happened to look down and notice a stream of blood swirling down the drain. This wasn't just a little blood from your ordinary nik, this was a solid flow which made me start to think that perhaps my face had a main artery in it which I just severed. If you are old enough to remember the movie Carrie and the prom scene when they poured a bucket of pig blood on her head, then you can appreciate what was going on in my shower. I had suffered 3 significant cuts to my chin.
I get out of the shower, partially shaven but full of blood, and tend to my damaged face. I walk out of the shower and my wife is there looking at me and says "what the hell happened?".
I made a comment about it being a new trendy look for a man to wear half a roll of Charmin on his face, and then asked her if she bought me that deadly weapon hoping she could collect on my life insurance.
Needless to say, I am not a fan of the MicroTouch One razor

I always use trimmers then go blade if my beard hairs are more than 1/4 long. Sounds painful though, I know that ripping feeling. House sitting once for a friend and he didn't have a mirror in the shower so I had to do it dry, that was hell.

MicroTouchOne. Just more made in China junk from the Corporate Fukks. I don't care how many free blades they give you. Junk is junk.
I too have noticed decreased quality on Gillette Mach3 blades. Have settled on the two-blade Gillette Sensor XL. Perfect for trimming around my goatee.
Don't underestimate the quality of a good sensitive skin shave cream.

'Magic Shave' will take it all off, including the first layer of your skin

You can get a 25 pack of Sensor XL's @ Costco for 25-30 bucks and I can get about 3 or so good shaves per blade before that weak azz "Sensor-Strip" gel thing wears out. I shave every other day during the week (except for special occasions like a wedding on the weekend or something) so, basically, a buck a week = a 6 month supply. Done.....
Barbasol "Sensitive Skin" shaving cream - 1 can @ WalMart is like $2 & change, and you can get maybe a month and a half to two months per can - it says what it does, and does what it says.....
If you pay anything more beyond that, you're a sucker.....
