I'll preface this by saying that I know nothing about the economy or the job market.
It just feels like the country is going to be doomed as artificial intelligence gets more and more developed.
The early to mid 1900s people could get work by doing manual jobs, working in factories, building cars, etc. A lot of these places have closed down, though I've never had the opportunity to see some of these dead towns in places like Ohio that Lebron left in turmoil. Coal mines have closed down, and the government has been promoting green sources of energy for quite some time.
So we've got automation in factories now. We've got robots that can make deliveries. We'll be seeing self-driving cars within the next 10 years that will put cab drivers out of business.
And most of the manual labor can be done for pennies on the dollar and shipped to the US for less than we can do on our own.
And we've got people working at Mcdonalds picketing for $15 an hour. Some college graduates can't even get jobs paying $15 an hour, and these high school dropouts / felons / illegal immigrants want that much?
Any predictions on what the future will hold, and where the workforce will have to shift to remain employed?
