I loved Rick Camp. During my high school days we would have an all-star draft for the Strat-O-Matic game and play each other for money. Rick Camp was my setup man. I remember that he very rarely gave up a homerun.

I played Cadaco All Star baseball until the player discs got so worn out you couldn't read them anymore. Anyone else remember that game ?

The only thing better was the electric football game with miniature men who would vibrate across the metal field in frustratingly random patterns.

had to wait for getty.i don&#x27;t remember stratomatic baseball but my second favorite video game of all time was intelelevision baseball.  soccer was probably third.  tecmo of course was number one.i bring up rick camp because he died this weekend.  i remember rick camp for a specific game.  docterd had it right.once upon a time, the clubdirt family would go to braves games at fulton county stadium.  back in the days of dale murphy, bob horner and chris chambliss when you could buy tickets outside for a few dollars and walk right up to the front row and watch the games in peace and quiet along with a couple thousand other people.on july 4, 1985, we went to the game to see the great dwight gooden pitch for the mets.  we were disappointed when he got roughed up and only lasted a couple of innings.  however, it turned into one of the best, and longest, baseball games in history.  the mets went up one in the top of the 18th.  in the bottom of the ining, the braves were out of hitters and had to pinch hit rick camp.  i remember knowing he was a terrible hitter but reading about it today, i didn&#x27;t realize he had the lowest batting average in the league at .036.  and of course he hammers a home run to keep the game going.laterm, the mets went up again and rick camp came up again with a chance to tie it but struck out.crazy game.  it ended at 4:00 am and we stayed for the whole thing.i wonder how much coke gooden and strawberry did that night to get them through that whole thing.

I listened to an interview with Camp from a few years ago. He said that after the count went to 0-2, umpire Terry Tata told him to swing for the fences so they could keep playing until the sun came up. So, next pitch he goes yard and Tata meets him halfway down the 3rd baseline and yells at him while laughing "You stupid SOB, I was just kidding." RIP Rick.

I love hearing about old Baseball memories. As far as I'm concerned, Baseball is the greatest sport on planet Earth.

The Cocaine-80's, LOL. Remember Yogi Berra's son Dale Berra and Keith Hernandez being named in the big Cocaine scandal? Shiit, Strawberry and Gooden were probably drawing up lines in the clubhouse as big and wide as the River Nile.

Haha I loved that game as a kid. I played it non stop. My sister got me one for Xmas a few years back cuz she remembered how much I played it and wasn&#x27;t so exciting anymore. It&#x27;s amazing how different growing up is now is compared to the 80s.

My kids would laugh at that game. I actually think my parents still have it in their attic...Bring back the 80s (and my hair)
