I don't see a big deal with it being legal, but exactly how would this solve any of the worlds problems?

I think it should be legal only ranches like out in nevada. where people actually want to be employed as one.

Prostitution should be legal. It's a choice about what a person wants to do with their body.

However, I'm wondering how they can make sure that the person isn't being pimped against their will or hasn't been trafficked from another country. It will make it even harder to help the people being held against their will when some of the sex acts are legal.

We do need to protect these people, because they are people too, no matter who they are or where they came from.

People work different jobs because of different reasons. Some women has just sex addicts that like it. The majority of people can't say that they love working. I just wouldn't want to support someones crack addiction.

There are lines in prostitution that really shouldn't be crossed, so I understand why the government doesn't allow it. It would however let women know that we can get sex easily, so we don't need to put you on a pedestal and wine and dine you with no guarantees.

It absolutely should be. I don't understand how it's a crime to offer a service with your body to someone that wants the service. It would keep the girls from having to work outside in bad weather conditions and unsafe environments. Venereal diseases would drop as there would be more testing. It would create millions of jobs. And who cares if your your neighbor Ken goes down the street to the "care center" to get sex. He's not bothering me.

I really can't think of a good reason why it SHOULDN'T be legal. People have sex every day for reasons other than love or procreation so what the Hell is the problem? And how is porn legal, and prostitution not? Makes total sense... wtf?

Prostitution is the oldest profession in the world and it's not going away any time soon. I forgot to mention above the billions of tax dollars it would generate.

When you look at all the positives of legalization, they simply outnumber the negatives by a landslide. And I don't even know what the negatives would be. So there's a couple sex centers in the city when you go to work. Get over yourself. Last night when you were tucked nicely into bed with your wife after kissing your perfect children goodnight, the working girl Lisa was beaten half to death by her pimp because she had a slow night.

Getty3... their are many educated prostitutes. Businessmen need to uphold an image when seen in public and a $100 prostitute just won't do it. These ladies know how to dress. They know how to carry themselves. Many are in fact VERY educated. These are beautiful intelligent women that intimidate most men. You really should be careful with what you post. Not that I care, but think first.

Besides that, what kind of person does that make you when you say things like "who cares they're losers anyways". They're human beings dude. The legalization would help protect them and feed their children. And we could collect tax dollars and help give our youth better education and we could fix some of these fückin potholes I drive on every day that ruin my car.

Some of these women won't ever win beauty contents or impress anyone with their conversation skills. But is that a good reason to simply discard them like trash? Why shouldn't we help them if we can? Many never did get the chance at a normal life with the beatings they took when they were innocent children. Legalization could actually provide that.

Slamspurs... they can't be sure if someone is being pimped now. The fact is, it would happen less with legalization. Eventually it would get to the point where it almost would never happen. With legal cat houses everywhere, any woman could go and get a job. The pimps would have a difficult time finding women with such attractive employment opportunities all over the city.

Legalization would possibly help with the human trafficking thing too, a huge problem all over the world. With beautiful women working in very nice comfortable environments, the demand of the services that trafficking provides to it's clients would drop. There's a lot to this debate to consider, and when you do, it's really a no brainer.

i think you're right but i look at it from the government perspective.  it's illegal now.  basically, that translates into a couple of cops in the vice squad who spend their days pretending to be people looking for hookers, they make a few arrests a month, the prostitutes spend a day or two in jail, they get out with a prostitution conviction which pretty much solidifies the fact that they'll never get a real job with that on their resume. 

to me, that's a waste of time, money and resources and it doesn't help the girls but makes their situation work.  in other words, typical government waste and mismanagement.

sure i'd love to havea  system where only girls who really want to do this work do it and no one is forced to do it but like most things, when the government gets involved, the situation only gets more fucked up.

obviously the government needs to get involved in some stuff (pimps, child prostitution, etc), but i think the default position should always be less government if possible.
