Do the Cardinals need some mojo to spark them to cover the Shockers +10.5? Why do I see/hear this coverage of Ware from his hospital bed and the Pitino vigil and I can't help thinking of the shooting of the Conn. kindergardeners?

You really think he's going to say anything? Not a chance.
If the profits went to a special scholarship in his name, I think it's a great idea. Just seems to smell like another money grubbing tactic to me.
Sonny Vacarro, one of the pioneers of sports marketing called this whole thing "ugly and inappropriate." According to him, the profits are to be allocated to charity, but he admits it's simply an ad hoc advertising campaign for both Adidas and the University of Louisville.
In his words... "If you're serious about donating to charity, do it quietly. " Amen

I would think Louisville's Athletics office would have made sure this isn't a violation of NCAA rules. And obviously no one at the university will be able to profit from this.

this is the paradox of collegiate athletics. It is a great and inspirational story. And also one that Lousiville (or others) can profit on from t-shirts etc... But at the end of the day the player at the heart of the issue is left out in the cold (or at least is supposed to be).
Kind of sickening but at the same time it is reality

good point. "We'll put a boot in your behind it's the American Way". If nothing else it is artistically lame.

Didn't see it.....with all the fuss I thought he was paralyzed maybe....
The real shame?
The NCAA (well over a BILLION in March Madness revenue alone)...or the U of Louisville (men's BB revenue $42.4 million in 2011-12) are under no obligation to pay Ware's (future) medical bills... *with the publicity though....in this case he will be taken care of..... *note > the NCAA does offer catastrophic coverage.............................with a $90,000 deductible
In many cases what happens....the athlete loses his scholarship (in most cases 'renewed' each year)..and the athlete is immediately responsible for all medical bills.....in fact 20% of tournament teams' rosters 'disappeared'....between 2011-12 (not counting seniors or early departures)....many no doubt because of injury
*this is why the NCAA/universities are so insistent on classifying athletes as STUDENTS.....and not EMPLOYEES.....because then they would be eligible for worker's comp....among other things ya' didn't think they really care about educating the athletes did ya"?.........
