What's up Sam?
Just be careful. My advice? Make a rule to use it for one thing and nothing else and ALWAYS pay it off at the end of the month. You want to show that you can consistently come up with, say, $100 every month. For example, use it just for gas. Keep an eye on the balance at all times. Always remind yourself that you need to pay it off at months end. IMO credit cards are just evil. Of course they don't have a mind. They don't really commit evil acts but you know what I'm saying. They can get you in a ton of trouble. They set me back financially for many years but I was a dumb kid.
If you're gonna get one, at least get one that gives you air miles. Do a Google search for "best credit cards with rewards".

How is your credit? If you don't have any, it will be difficult to get any kind of decent rewards card.
Your first credit card will likely be a small credit line around $500, with a pretty high APR around 15.99 to 19.99.
The best credit card that I have is my Chase Freedom. They offer 1% cash back on everything, and 5% cashback on their categories for the season.
For example, during summer months and from January til like March, you get 5% cashback on gas. They also do restaurants (including fast food), movies, grocery stores, etc.
The cashback is actually cashback too. They don't just give you points where you need 3500 points to get a $25 gift card like most places do.
In terms of credit lines, and no interest credit deals, I like my Citi simplicity card. I wouldn't get that unless you needed to borrow a few bucks for 18 months though.
I don't travel, so no airline cards interest me. Also, a lot of the more prestigious cards require an annual fee. I would never get one of those.
Good luck with your credit. Don't mess it up or you'll have problems getting car and home loans in the future or crappy rates.
Also, don't use more than half your limit. It's not looked upon well by companies.

Oh, I see that you've never had a credit card before. Like I said, it will be tough to get a good one then.
I think Capital One cards are the easiest to get without credit, but I don't like their service. If you have no credit though, you gotta take what you can get and start somewhere.
If you're a student, you can get some student cards. They are easier to get.
