USA Today---- new format

Question

Cant seem to find anything to like here, the font size appears smaller and lighter, certainly harder to read, the "web" style layout is annoying also, even the weather page has been chopped and diced, I know newspapers in general are going the way of the dinosaur and these latest moves by the editors at USA Today will do nothing but insure this happens sooner rather than later, adios USA it was nice knowing you for the past 30 years.

I hate it so bad that I&#x27;m cancelling tomorrow after 30 years of home delivery.&#xD;&#xA;Can not believe that big of a change and Why? without a suggestion from the readers.&#xD;&#xA;Once again A great newspaper forgets about the most important thing  THE READERS

Sounds like a lose lose situation for USA Today.  Realistically, changing the format wouldn&#x27;t generate *new readers* to the paper.  If you liked the paper, you would have been a subscriber a long time ago.  So the change could only have 3 potential scenarios.  Scenario #1 - Reader is neutral ... not happy not mad, Scenario #2 - Reader is likes the change and continues subscription with USA Today, Scenario #3 - Reader hates the new format and discontinues subscription.  Which means decreased revenues no matter what happens.  IMO - improving the quality or adding content to the existing paper without changing the format is the way to go if they were serious in staying in business a few more miserable years.

I was just thinking the other day as I was looking at the paper why they are still going through all the trouble other than to keep the old people happy?

Waste of paper and effort by many when you could pay a monthly fee and get all of it online if they offer it and papers do these days.

The same old people who think we could not survive without the paper mail system they loved 50 years ago

Look at any newspaper(paper) they only print enough content to provide for advertising.I have not read USA for years but if it&#x27;s like other media I&#x27;ll bet it&#x27;s ad revenue is slacking. At least they didn&#x27;t do what one local paper did with declining ads/shrinking subscrips&#x2B;sales. They increased the price of single paper,increased price of home delivery, and shrunk the content/coverage and size. If I don&#x27;t want something give me less of it and make it more exspensive. Just my rant but only with a monopoly run with a unionized shop.

I looked at the new format since Monday, tried to give it a chance...don't like the small font or the new look at all. I thought at first they made the size of the paper smaller too, but that is the same as before.

I used to buy the USA Today every Tuesday during football season since it always included in its sports section the schedule and results for every major college program in the country.  I picked one up this Tuesday and it was not in there.  Now there is no reason for me to buy it at all.
