I am tired of companies trying to sway people to buy stuff you don't need to impress people you don't know with money you don't have.
The insufferable advertisers and their shitty commercials are beyond tolerable.
If you have DVR, try to pause the game at its start for about 15 minutes and that will allow you to fast-forward through 4 sets of commercials, and or coach's challenges. It really helps speed up the game if you just sacrifice a few minutes at the start. |

the Mrs and I do this with just about EVERY TV show we watch esp right now because living in a "battleground state" we are completely over-run with bullshit political commercials |

#7 Posted: 9/10/2012 12:38:26 AM Most commercials I just can't stand and so I will change the channel for just awhile until I know the commercial is over but there are just a few that I tolerate because it makes me laugh like this...hihihihihihi!

When I am tired, but have money on the game, I sometimes turn the volume down very low during commercials and catch a 10 or 15 minute nap when leaning back on the recliner. Then when I hear the crowds screaming after a big play it wakes me back up.
When I unfortunately catch the occasional commercials, I hate the Progressive with Flo, Capital One with Jimmy Fallon or Alec Baldwin, and ANY car commercial. And I know they are not marketing to me because I don't remember purchasing anything on TV recently because some dipshit tells me it is a good idea.

#10 Posted: 9/10/2012 1:05:47 AM Any credit card commercial reminds me that it is a great way to go into massive debt, and any food commercial reminds me that it is time to grab a bite from the fridge or the drive-thru,, but it almost certainly won't be the product they are advertising. |

#11 Posted: 9/10/2012 1:20:59 AM Too much tv timeouts don't help either.
Back from commercial break for the kickoff. Of course, it's a touchback. Back to commercials. |

#13 Posted: 9/10/2012 10:07:48 AM Wait til you get old. Even listening to broadcasters puts me on tilt. I'd love to tell guys like Gruden on Monday Night Football and Bob Brenly who does the Cubs games to just shut the darn up!!
So friggin annoying.

Those 2 blowhards think the drivel they spew is more important than the game they are broadcasting. I know he gets paid to offer his opinion and analysis, but Gruden is king of the know-it-all douches who offer little to no thoughtful insight during the game. He just talks about how great every play and player is. |

#16 Posted: 9/11/2012 7:11:04 PM Oh come on, you know you person love commercials, don't play.
How else would we know about the new 4G LTE lightning fast wireless devices? Or that you can save $7 a year by switchng car insurance?? Or that Money Mutual will put up to $1000 into your checking account by tomorrow??? Or that every woman wants a Trojan Twister for her birthday????
For real though, probably most of us work for places that need to advertise to increase sales, more sales = more money = you get to keep your job. Gotta make a living somehow...if blasting your message to 250 million people does the trick, then I guess I'm ok with it... |

If you think Brenly sucks then you must hate Hawk Harrelson. I even pull for the Sox and can't stand the guy. Talk about a hick, homer that doesn't shut the darn up about the umps. Give it up already Hawk. Also he has these cheesy behind one liners and then goes dead air when the Sox are losing. The idiot even fired LaRussa as a manager when he was a GM. Dude fuckin blows more then any announcer since Ron Santo.

#18 Posted: 9/11/2012 8:02:32 PM ive been doing this the last 5 years, why waste your time watching people sell u stuff, I immediately go online and mute or have a couple of "reserve" channels I go to during the commercials, usually a movie i like or another sports event. The only commercials I see are on billboards on the road or in magazines or newspapers |

Effective Sept 1 in Canada the Canadian Television-Radio Communications Commission passed regulations to stop this crap. It has been a treat.......no more loud commercials. |

#20 Posted: 9/13/2012 9:50:32 PM The Mute button has been useful. I want to buy products when I want to buy it, not when an ad forces me to. |

#22 Posted: 9/15/2012 12:08:32 PM Previous Channel or Back a great option with more than one football game on.
After a TD, I'll usually do something away from the TV. If, by a chance in hell somebody runs one back for a touch, they'll replay the hell out of it to point out the clipping the refs missed.............. |

#24 Posted: 9/15/2012 8:50:20 PM This is where the MLB package or the NBA package is golden. I never have just one game to watch. AS soon as it goes to commercial, I'm on to the next game.
