This team is trash.

Jemile Weeks?
Cliff Pennington?

Seth Smith... Johnny Gomes, Brandon Inge... these guys are a bunch of scrubs lets face it... wtf????

Millone is good
Parker is good
McCarthy is good

But even these guys are overachieving no names...

Its just crazy to me what this team has been doing, they are a team of has beens for the most part. Are they just getting lucky?

Variance does have the capability to make an appearance every now and then after all.

I know it doesn't provide the how, but, Even the shitty teams in MLB win about 40% of their games.

I think you have to give a lot of credit to Jonnah Hill.

They are scoring more runs than their opponent.

Their pitching might be overachieving as you say, but nonetheless, the numbers are what the numbers are.  Their pen has been really good for the most part.

Look at the runs given up in recent games.  2 clunkers....that's it. Completely in every other game.

4 – 1 – 2 – 3 – 3 – 6 - 4 – 3 – 3 – 1 – 7 – 1 – 2 – 2 - 1 – 1

Scoring more runs than their opponents is a key ingredient to winning.

I think the A's have been watching youtube videos and they just believe

That or they are simply scoring more runs than the team they are playing

Its called pitching. Hello. They have one of the best staffs in the league, always have been near the top. Nobody ever mentions it because they are a small market.

Pretty shocking accomplishment hanging in there with the mighty Rangers and Angels.

The triple A A's swept the Yankees!

The reason the A's are winning is the ballboys are pissing in the other teams gatorade.

oakland always knows how to get unknown pitching quality in which they do'nt have to carry on big contracts.  Moneyball it is, but then you go out and get josh reddick like that and then yoenis cespedes right behind him, another unknown coming into the season and look what you've got.  jemile weeks is a scrapper.  that guy finds a way to get aboard and keep in mind that dallas braden hasn't pitched in over a year.  Brandon mccarthy is injured, how the darn does this fuckin' team even stay around .500?  must be the coaching staff, the manager, the people that sit in the press box that run the team behind the scenes.  i admire a team like the oakland athletics just because i respect a moneyball team like they are as opposed to a big market team that signs well established veterans for maximum contracts only to go over the hill a few years later, and if not, directly after they sign the big contract, darn that garbage man.  As iron sheik would say oakland darn your behind, break your back make you humble!

you are right, cespedes and reddick are not enough, it's gotta be the pitching that allows no more than 2 runs a game, that has got to be it.  could be the stadium also, it seems nobody can score there but then the a's go out on the road it seems and then somehow they score, weird garbage if you ask me

The pitching has been top notch. And they are hitting homers like crazy. Close to double of last year.

it helps that most of the teams suck--only 13 are 5+ games over .500.
