Knowledge of Basic Strategy can only take you so far. In order to gain a true advantage over the house, you must keep a count of 10 value cards AND a separate count of Aces.
Blackjack is a VERY streaky game. Limit your losses during unfavorable counts, however, PRESS your wagers during favorable counts and you will absolutely kick ass.
You cannot count into a 6 or 8 deck shoe? BULLSHIT!!!
One of my special tactics is to play TWO hands. This allows you to camouflage your intent from the floor bosses. Best way to do this is have a friend play next to you and wager the exact same bet together with you and accelerate the wagers on your positive running count.
Try to stick to a maximum of 5 times your minimum wager. Otherwise you will draw uninvited attention to your play. DO NOT get greedy. If you buy-in for $500, be happy to leave with $1K during that session. The Casino is always open. Play on YOUR OWN TERMS and never be hesitant to leave with a profit.

more bad runs than good runs and i play it by the book for the most part. nothing you can do sometimes. if you have bad money management this game will burn you from time to time for sure

i find that it's 50/50, certain times i would do the opposite of what others do; i.e, split 4's and 2's, stay on 16, 15, and 14. Works some , doesn't work some. Some nights i would win big , and lose big also.
i love baccarat, though. poker is also fun since it is competitive with others like, yourself. hate losing money to the house.

I was playing 5dimes and I hit a soft 18 vs a dealer 10. Some other dude got pissed because he ended up losing his hand. He said it was the wrong play.

That's one of the advantages of playing two (or more) hands. If you nail a double down on your first hand, you can stand on your second hand if the count is a heavy positive. You are favored to make money that hand whatever happens.
Two hands is easier to hide your presses also. You can go from betting one $25 chip ($50 total on both hands), to $75 each hand ($150 total on both hands), a press of three times your base wager, and it goes virtually undetected by the floor.
And to you wise guys, obviously there is nothing that is a sure bet, but it most definitely helps to have a count in your favor while playing Blackjack.
