Cubans will find any reason in Miami to get excited or angry. Castro's power in Cuba is rather impressive but just cannot say it in Florida.

The word "love"might cost him the job but I doubt it. Cubans have never neen loyal to the Marlins anyway.

Tide is coming in in Miami. tomorrow night - 'nother dozen or so.

I think you mean to say that some people just don't give a fuk.

This is the way to be. I am like this. I respect Ozzie Guillen for exuding this attitude.

Exactly. Ready shoot aim is all it is.

Cubans causing an uproar. They don't even go to the games.

Love to PR for him under these circumstances. Not real difficult to quiet down.

Right again. Unfortunately he has a majority up against him in the Miami press and politics. Fuckin bullshit.

No way does he lose his job. Pardon my honesty but the Unites States has gone beyond the call for cubans in Florida.

...And stop apologizing Ozzie. Stop.

I say screw the ole timers. All they do is filch off the system and cry over anything Cuban related. It's funny how they show up at the stadium crying today and yelling for Ozzie to be fired. Threatening they won't come to any games until he is fired. These are the same aholes who cried that tearing down the Orange Bowl would take money out of their pockets cause people parked on their property during games and they collected $20 a car. Now Loria builds parking garages and purposely leaves the opportunity for people to once again make money with parkers coming to the games. Yet they girl anyways. I'm so sick of the cuban community thinking they are owed. Listen boatriders. If you don't like the freedoms you have been GIVEN here in the USA get back on a raft or float and go the f*ck back to your island. Now STFU and let Ozzie coach.

The ones crying on ESPN don't even buy tickets to the games.
And
Food for thought =
Get on raft or boat make it to our lovely beaches in Florida touch sand and your afforded better healthcare and support than 50% of the people who were born here and deserve it.

I ABHOR political correctness, and Ozzie Guillen had every right to say what he said, even if he was having trouble completely relaying his thoughts about Castro.  I think Ozzie was impressed that a dictator could stay in power that long, and threats to his reign have been thwarted all these years.

I admire Ozzie's openness, regardless if I agree or not.  That being said, there are always consequences to one's actions.  What he did would be no different than a CEO at Coca-Cola coming out and saying he prefers Pepsi over his product.  As a paid employee and spokesman of the Marlins organization, Ozzie should have been fired IMMEDIATELY for his offensive statements.

That is fine that Ozzie does not give a darn.  But when he stupidly riles up the community, the owner should cease giving a darn about Ozzie.

One thing that has not been mentioned here and I was hoping that someone would have hit on it already is the sad fact that now ANYTHING you say can offend someone, even though your supposed to have a RIGHT to your OWN opinion...it seems that the same people demanding respect for their opinions, concerns or self interest don't feel the need to respect Ozzie just because he said what he felt. It's the now thing to feel that you can do something and it is right, but when someone who differs from you feels or says something, they are wrong!

Marge Schott went through the same thing...and her statements she supposedly stated about Adolph Hitler I did not agree with but I did not go out and stage a protest. Nor demand time on the radio or television to denounce her. It was just her speaking her mind and stating a thought she had. One of the things that make us humans what we are has always been the chance to disagree, debate or just be different from someone else.

What's the matter with saying he loves Castro?  I thought that Cuba was a wonderful place to live, and the media and the democrats are always talking up their political system as to how superior it is to that of the U.S?

I knew Ozzie was going to say something stupid this season, but I am surprised how soon it happened.

So, one of the reasons the Cubans fled Cuba was censorship/free speech.

So they come to America, and if somebody says something they don't like....................THAT PERSON needs to be censored?

He is free to say what he wants but the Marlins as his employer are also free to punish him for costing them money.  This isnt a story if he is still in Chicago, stupid thing for him to say in the community he works but still much to do about nothing.

the way i see it, if i own a company and one of my employees is saying garbage that has nothing to do with his job and is going to hurt my business, i'm going to deal with that employee.  it has nothing to do with freedom of speech.  but i don't really give a garbage beyond that.

While I dont think he should be fired or suspended, he needs to know his place as manager.  Kind of foolish to make these comments considering the Cuban population in South Florida.

He refuses to go to the White House after the World Series win but instead opts to go to his native Venezuela to visit Chavez.  Now he makes these positive remarks about Castro.  Communist fool.

Does anyone who has listened to Ozzie over the years REALLY think he loves Castro per se?  What I really think is that he has an admiration for someone who has persevered for so long all things considered.  Castro can be a complete behind hole and someone you may want to kill, but is it a crime to have admiration for some of their qualities......even if they use them for evil?  I don't think so.

Stalin was a person in so many ways (how many of his own people did he kill?).  But WWII may have had a different outcome if it wasn't for him.  I don't think it's criminal to recognize and understand that.  Doesn't mean you agree 100% with how he went about his business.

Typical over-reaction.  How can anyone take anything Ozzie says at face value considering his history.  I get more entertainment value out of his tirades involving his baseball team.
