yeah same for me guys i usually watch mlb network or cbs sports network or some of the regional channels i get on my sports package. I watch some NFL Network but even now its starting to get ridiculous on that network. I limit the ESPN i watch because i don't need a network to tell me how to feel, what to wear, what sex positions to use with my wife etc. If its not a game i don't watch ESPN. Just my 2 cents

No way. Tebow was talked about on Monday and Tuesday for Sunday's game and Wednesday through Sunday morning for his upcoming game.

I'm with you there. I LOVE the MLB Network and when the west coast games come on during the season, one of my TV's always has the MLB Network on it.

ESPN is only good for college sports and when they make you watch NBA on it.

This perfectly sums up ESPN on TV and ESPN radio.  friggin clowns.

even the game commentary focuses more on the story and less on the actual game...  I prefer to watch a TBS broadcasted game over an espn one...

No doubt. Espn has become a never ending large market hype machine.

Nothing by hypothetical diarrhea. I literally cancled my cable a year ago, based simply on this downward spiral. Espn used to be the only thing I would watch that was not an actual sporting event. Now I just stream live events from firstrow, and read my sports news. At least if there is a Tebow article, I know its not going to get shoved down my throat.

It's essentially become to sports what MTV became to music videos and music in general.

It's completely contrived and they do it because it works.  The only show I can stomach is Baseball Tonight.  And I'll occasionally tune in to look at some gal with nice tits talk some sports, but I'm usually bored after 5 minutes.

This. I was watching their morning show with Skip Bayless for awhile. They created Tebow mania on that show and then talked about the mania everyday. I finally gave up, stopped watching.

I still like Around the Horn and Pardon the Interuption in the afternoons.

By the way the only other shows i watch on ESPN is their 30 for 30 documentaries. You don't have to like sports to enjoy them

If you don't want to know how Tebow is making a change in his delivery, how Mannings neck is doing, a semi-clever pun on lin's name, or something Lebron said there is no reason to watch any program on ESPN because that is all they talk about.  Although something about Beadle on sportsnation I dig and I think Dan Lebatard dad's is a hoot.

That's the only show on espn i watch is with lebetard's dad. I'd love  to watch a game with him. beadle just disagrees with everything cowherd says. They could debate who was a better person Jesus Christ or Osama Bin laden. Colin would say "Jesus was he healed people of diseases made their life better. And Beadle would say "Colin Bin Laden gave money to charity and he was a good dad" Michelle Beadle is there because she sucked Colin Cowherd to get that job.

I'm lucky I live in Dallas and have The Ticket to listen to during the day. I really want to like some of ESPN's shows but it is just not happening. The only shows I can stand on a limited basis are College Gameday (football), PTI, Outside the Lines, 30 for 30, E60, and Baseball Tonight. And I don't know how in the world SportsNation has lasted for 2 years. That show is just awful with Colin Cowherd being not funny and the people in the background yelling 98 percent of the show. Beadle is cool, but I don't feel she is really in her element on that show. But how could she be. And Sportscenter gets worse and worse everyday. They are wasting a lot of talent at that network to rehash the same stories day after day. Oh well.

Yep.  And the NFL Network is just as bad IMO.  The only time I can appreciate it is when they show films.

This is the real reason why they have to hype up Lin so badly. So Spring training hasn't even started yet, so baseball is out of the picture.

Football is in the post super bowl, before the combine coverage, so the only real story is Peyton Manning, which they also have beaten to death.

Hockey is just not a popular sport in America. March Madness is about to be here, but no one really seems to care this year until the tournament.

Basically, we're in a no man's land where stories are pretty limited. They run networks 24/7, so they gotta broadcast something. Lin is just a feel good story that a lot of people don't mind hearing repeatedly.

For an Asian American as myself, I especially don't mind because it's a person I'm really happy to see succeed.

P.S. I hate how on my radio station they had mainly black callers call in and give their opinion on it.

Pardon my language, but I don't think most people realize that calling an Asian person a guy is the equivalent of calling a black person a person.

So black people wouldn't understand, cuz they don't get it. I think most people think its like calling a black person bro or something.

I COULD WRITE A BOOK ABOUT THIS TOPIC.
BUT TO KEEP IT SHORT...
I HAVE BEEN WATCHING SPORTS FAITHFULLY SINCE I WAS ABOUT 7 YEARS OLD.
IN MY EARLY 20'S I CAME TO THE SAME CONCLUSION AS YOU CONCERNING ESPN AND ACTUALLY HAVE EVEN MORE OPINIONS THEN WHAT YOU WROTE, BUT ANYWAY...

I ONLY WATCH BITS AND PIECES OF SPORTSCENTER, BASEBALL TONIGHT ETC. AND WHEN I EVEN DO THAT, I ALWAYS FLIP BACK AND FORTH WITH ANOTHER PROGRAM AND ONLY WATCH THE HIGHLIGHTS OR DISCUSSIONS ON ESPN THAT ARE INTERESTING!!!

Around the Horn is marginal...
Sports Nation is awful...
Dan Lebatard is Highly Questionable...honest to god its one of the worst shows ever created.
ESPN...one and done for me, I can't watch that garbage repeatedly
Baseball Tonight...good show
