#1 Posted: 2/16/2012 11:58:42 AM This whole Lin thing has gone completely over the top and I blame ESPN. I cannot watch the network anymore. I tune in for the game and that is it. They dictate what you love and hate in sports, you have no choice, Tiger Woods, Miami Heat, the Lin kid, NFL. I swear we are all in the pasture, like Sports cows, getting fed the same grass every day, You can have it. I guess at 43 I am out of the demo and life is better without a TV or RADIO sports expert. Got that off my chest. |

#3 Posted: 2/16/2012 12:09:06 PM Ever listen to Dan Patrick? He sometimes talks about what goes on behind the scenes at ESPN, basically confirms what youre saying |

#6 Posted: 2/16/2012 12:20:45 PM A game, Gameday, or Baseball Tonight is all I can handle. Ever since the Tebow thing it has been unwatchable. Every story is beaten to death and then beaten some more. |

#7 Posted: 2/16/2012 12:23:33 PM Program directors meeting before First Take: "OK guys, let's make sure everyone is over the top politically correct. Make sure no one is offended at anyone, and think twice before saying something honest and that makes sense........and if a score or highlight gets in the way, we'll try to deal with it." |

#8 Posted: 2/16/2012 12:30:32 PM It's kind of funny. They'll beat a story to death, then run five stories about the fact that the media is beating the story to death, then run five stories about whether there's a backlash against the player because the media is beating the story to death - all the while leading the idiot viewing public around by the nose. Anyone who watches more than five minutes of ESPN when there isn't a ball involved is an imbecile. |

#9 Posted: 2/16/2012 12:34:56 PM Just thinking the same thing. I'm home a lot during the day and ESPN is the only thing to watch. After about a month....I am starting to HATE ESPN. It is becoming a gossip show for sports. They talk about money too much. I know that contracts are a part of sports, but why not just report, "so-and-so signed with team A for 5 years. Why does the dollar amout matter so much? |

#14 Posted: 2/16/2012 1:41:42 PM i don't agree with everything that they do but espn is by far the best sports network.
the problem isn't espn. the problem is that nobody can compete with them.
maybe the nbc sports channel will grow. |

#15 Posted: 2/16/2012 2:36:43 PM A real problem is in February-after The Super Bowl & until march madness-it's relatively slow in sports. So they've got to come up with all kinds of verbal bullshit to fill air time. |

#17 Posted: 2/16/2012 2:52:53 PM It's nice to praise the guy for his good work and his story...but when your the story 55 minutes of a 60 minute sportscenter...it gets played out.
But the difference between Jeremy Lin and Tim Tebow is that Jeremy Lin plays 3 more quarters a game than Tebow. |

#21 Posted: 2/16/2012 4:10:06 PM The thing is Tebowmania got talked about the following Monday. Lin is out there 3/4 times a week, so it gets overplayed.
Before that, how much time were they giving Josh Hamilton? |
