With the pressure of baseball, his team and that wife constantly under foot? Amazing he lasted this long. Retire, take the money and just be a good dad Josh.

Well said, search.

However - his Baseball team has become a support system over these years. Eyes on him pretty much at all times, too.

I hope he overcomes this latest relapse.

darn everybody Josh, you've proved and shown so much to so many people in the country thus far. Let it go brother. If ya can't hang on it's okay - I sincerely wish this man the best of luck with happiness from deep down. Go and love your children the best ya can, pain in the behind stress factory baseball is over.

RETIRE???

Not a chance.  He's up for a big payday and if the Rangers don't fork it over then somebody else will.  A hungover Josh is a better hitter than 99% of all other ballplayers.  garbage, Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle were lushes over their entire careers.

To me that's the problem in many ways. Time to let him be a grown man and end up wherever he wants - on his own terms.

I agree. They baby the garbage out of this guy.

The controls they try to put on him don't help imo.

I really don't think Josh cares at all about the money, and never did much. I'm sure it was all about the wifey and all of her fuckin pressure.

He doesn't want to be there anymore.

Retiring from baseball would send him into a tailspin. He may not want to be there, but its keeping him alive most likely.

Like they say, relapse is part of the recovery.

dont you think him tossing that ball to the guy who died has something to do with this relapse. I bet he cant sleep at night over that and how that little kid doesnt have a Father anymore.
I saw this coming a million miles away. I knew it would happen after the season was over at some point

I don't buy the whole bible thumping BS but I have to say I admired him for overcoming his addictions.  I have nowhere near the addiction he has but I'm fairly certain I could never go the rest of my life or even a year or possibly even a month for that matter without drinking.

That being said there is no way this guy gets more than a 2 or 3 year deal from any team.

Sometimes a relapse serves as a reminder. Breaking sobriety doesn't mean it's over for him.............he can begin a new string.
