free will- club do the Christians on this site post every time someone on the other side does something wrong, no, really your a cool guy but why do you feel the need to do this, you have no clue what my book says but thats fine i have no clue what or how science can think this all happened by accident. no where in the bible does it say Gods gonna take free will away from someone, if you wanna go down this road it might help if you knew the basics at minimal

i mention tebow because the wearing god on his sleeve shit is extremely obnoxious and ignorant in my opinion.  the guy's major flaw.  other than that, i'm all for the guy. 

here's where i'm coming from.  denver wins and tebow comes out and says god this and god that and we're blessed and we pray and everyone is cool with it.  the media encourages it.  the christians love it.

imagine if you are this girl's parents.  she prayed to god too in a situation somewhat more critical than week 14 against the bears but instead of a game winning touchdown, she gets a fuckin bullet to the brain and a tragically premature death.  what about all of the other people who have real problems and pray to god and just continue to get shit on?  how do they feel when they have to turn on the tv and hear how god said fuck you to their kid who was in a hostage situation that ended in an execution because god was too busy helping denver get to 8-5. 

am i the only one who sees a problem with this?

boberts, i'm not even talking about whether or not the is a god.  i, just like everyone else on this planet (i won't speak for other more advanced life forms in the universe), have no idea.  i'm talking about religion and abuse of the concept of god.  you know the church of clubdirt's opinion.  shut the fuck up about your religion or your god until you can prove your god or your religion is any more viable than the hundreds of others out there.

God has nothing to do with who wins a football game, denver doesn't win because God does something, i think thats crazy. what Tebow does is gives the glory to God by saying he is blessed it doesn't mean that God blessed the score what he is trying to say is that he was blessed to be in a position to make millions playing football, hes been blessed with oppurtinitys- what he does with those oppurtunitys is his free will

that sounds a little better but the bottom line is that god put tebow in a position to do some relatively meaningless shit on a football field and he comes up roses yet god put eve carson and her family in a much different position and we see how that ended.  from the outside it appears evil and arbitrary. 

but i'm not arguing what god did or didn't do.  i'm saying these people need to shut the fuck up about what they are saying god did for them because there are a lot of people out there who are equally deserving who pray just as much and get the short end in much more serious situations.  until tebow and all the other vocal religious people can explain why they got put in these great situations to do whatever mostly insignificant shit they did and why eve carson got put in the ultimate horrible situation only to get murdered, i say they should shut the fuck up about it.  that's just my opinion.

comming from someone that thinks God would have something to do with the outcome of a football game, its not suprising you think its harry potter. 1,600 pages that go against your comment, if you ever decide to pick up a bible start with one with pictures. Why do people just love talking about a book they have never read, it's strange. If i wanted to talk about harry potter and I had never read any of them, i would sound like a moron....day after day

i'm not exactly sure the extent of your meaning but i define free will to be the ability to chose what to do and think on my own without any outside restrictions.  well, none of us have pure free will because we are at least restricted by the law.  but other than that, i figure i have free will to do what i want.  so if that's the case, why do politicians want tio inject god and religion into policy making.

and an alternative question would be, if everyone has free will and god isn't going to interject into situations, whether for tebow or eve carson, what's the point of praying, going to church, etc.

What does Tebow saying we are blessed have to do with this girl getting murdered? He has repeatedly said he knows or feels God has nothing to do with the outcome of football games. He never says he wins because he prays or believes in God. The kid does the right thing,lives a clean life and helps more people than most and all he does is get bashed by haters. He is what is right about the world and how we should want people to behave. And no,I am not religious and I don't think Tebow is a good QB,but he is one heck of a person.

i think i answered the initial question already. 

i have noticed more recently that he made a point to say that god has nothing to do with football games.  but that is very recent, not how he used to be.  i can only assume that his agent, or someone with some sense, told him to tone down all the god rhetoric because he sounded like a quack and he was pissing a lot of people off, probably those same people i reference in this thread, for instance, the mother of a child with cancer who wonders why god helps tebow but does shitall for her child.

other than that, i agree with you.  i like tebow and wish we had a lot more like him as opposed to many of the asshole, selfish athletes we see today.

How do you know this?  Because the media told you?  Wasn't Sandusky known as a great man, who does the right things, lives a clean life and started a charity for boys without fathers?  Wasn't Sandusky hiding who he really was?  How do you know who Tebow really is?
