Im going to be 40 in 2 months and i can honestly sat that i have never went a day without drinking since i was about 16.  i know this isn't right and i am not trying to bragg but i always felt different and i liked it when i drank.  Know i must say i am addicted and i drink at least 18 beers a day every day sick or not, got to stop them shakes, i do work and am successful in their eyes but my wife know's the truth i need 3 beers at 6 in the morning just to show up to work and look sober, plus the fact that i gamble every day doesn't help my cause.  I wish you luck in getting it under control, as for me i just need another drink

Good luck dopalicous you will survive, I myself was in your position and continued too ignore when I had chest pains one morning and went to the ER only to find myself with 10 stints in my heart in a matter of 3 months, as you would think I have had to stop many habits and it has been rough, but I struggle everyday and if it were not for family and friends I think to myself were would I be.............Have Confidence in yourself and you will be fine...........

Just came across this thread and i found it interesting. Being addicted to gambling can almost be as dangerous as all the things you are addicted too. Imo the green and alcohol shouldnt be threatening from the amounts you consume but i have no idea why you take xannies as they can be the sole thing that ruins your life. Especially combined with these other substances you could be in for a rude awakening if you dont watch it. Stick to the greens to relax.

Dopa, as many have done I would suggest cutting out the daily intake of prescription meds. Bars are highly addictive and at this point you might even have trouble weening yourself off of them. The beers and weed should be enough to put you to sleep nightly. If you can manage the alcohol then you don't have to cut it out. But it will catch up to you eventually, weight-wise as well as aging you faster. The least damaging of your daily diet is the marijuana. If you just cut back to this every day and drinking on the weekends then you should be able to continue your career success.

Good luck and God bless.

Dop all the best to you! I have tried to quit xanax cold turkey with bad results blacked out a couple times, and I was on just 3mg a day with no other addictions at the time. Some people can tolerate drugs and booze better than others but if you are taking anymore than 2mg of xanax a day i suggeest a slow taper.

see nothing wrong with what youre doing my man.If you can handle it then keep going. You will know when to say when. Me myself personally, im in the process of drinking less and wanting to smoke instead. The only reason im not smoking now is because im at a garbage job and im looking for another and dont know if they do hair or piss, but at the same time, im tired of working for fool and making others rich. anyway, GL on your decision and "DO WHAT YOU DO!"

pretty good chance that covers.com is not exactly the place to go for advice on this topic.   but whatever, it's an open forum.

The only way you could justify this is because gambling can cost you all your money and possessions if it gets out of control.  Guess what....so can substance abuse if it gets out of control
