Jason Garret cannot be hired as head coach of the Cowboys because they must interview a black coach but Leslie Frazier can and did get hired without the interviewing of a white coach.   Now if this is not racism I dont know what is.

Bring on any bashing because white yellow black brown or purple this is BS!!!!!!!!!!

The Rooney rule should be viewed as a dispicable, degrading insult to any black coach with even a shred of self-worth.

How many of these guys have gone to an interview like what will happen in Dallas, knowing they are doing nothing but fulfilling a team's obligation to hire someone else. Shame on both the NFL and the coach who will show up for this mockery of a job interview.

I don't give a darn if they hire a 14 year old Chinese kid with coke-bottle glasses. If the kid can draw up a play that covers the 7 point spread he is cool with me.

The Rooney rule makes sense on paper...but like the whole Affirmative Action issue...it really is not viable in the premise that how you can you tell someone who they have to hire?

You can bet many do hire people of diferent ethnic groups just to "fill the quota" and from this the employer is cheated because they might not have enough minority candidates and sadly don't get the best person for the job, because some have the feeling they won't be hired anyhow so why even try?

Even though they do interview a "Minority Candidate" it is all window dressing and you can bet they already have eliminated him from contention...so how does anyone really win in this situation?

If Garrett is the best coach for the job he has NO reason to worry, girl or complain because he will simply beat out the inferior black coach...

Seems like only one person is being a girl about it...

Its just a process...  I mean its the Dallas Cowboys for god sakes...  "America's Team"...

I mean we really don't have to worry about racism in Texas do we?

Got to love affirmative action in all it's half-assed glory. As if the NFL needs affirmative action. Every Sunday we are watching far more black people than we are white people yet we need to continue to bend over backwards and help anyone who is NOT white?

Some thing is not quite kosher there. How about some affirmative action to help the poor old white running back or wide receiver?

A couple of tokens

They're to the NFL what Brian Scalabrine and Jason Kapono are to the NBA.

Sounds to me like they are counterbalancing deep seated institutional racism within the NFL that blacks can't hold cerebral positions of power (i.e. QB, Coach, Upper Management)...

This doesn't work but it's a step in recognizing the problem, albeit a VERY small step

That or blacks aren't good at holding positions of power; perfect example is Obama. He was voted in by Hollywood and two years after the fact the guy is a joke.

person were killed in the millions during WWII you don't see any special rules for them.

African Americans need to move on or be happy with what they have.
