Just got some shocking news from back home

Question

I found out that a once former good buddy of mine got busted smuggling drugs into Indonesia and could face the death penalty.

I hung out with this guy from age 16 to 24. He was always a little " out there " but was great value as a buddy and always good company. While you reap what you sow when it comes to smuggling drugs, you wouldn't wish a life sentence in an Indonesian prison on your worst enemy.

Thanks for sharing your concerns. Its  much appreciated. I&#x27;ll be honest and say that I have had very little to do with this guy since my mid 20s, because we all grow up and can grow apart, but this news came as a huge shock to me.Not to mention that there has been a lot of tension between Australia and Indonesia for many years, and this tension has only been exacerbated since the Bali bombings in 2002. The Indonesian authorities love to make an example of someone who breaks their laws, and in particular in recent times, Australians who break their laws. His defence sounds very shoddy and is one that has been used unsuccessfully many times in the past by tourists caught trying to smuggle drugs.In saying all that, you would think that having lived the previous 3 years in Bangkok, he would be fully aware of the consequences and repercussions that come with attempting to smuggle drugs in S.E Asia. Still, it&#x27;s not a pleasant feeling to know that a once good friends life is pretty much over.

They also tried to blame baggage handlers at the Australian airport saying that the baggage handlers used passengers baggage to smuggle drugs.Most people in Australia think it was her half-brother who fucked her over as it was his boogie board bag. The family is white trash and the half-brother has since had drug convictions in Oz.You&#x27;re right about the Crown attorneys having a hard on for drug smugglers. They also refuse to even listen to possible extradition. Sad to say, but he is pretty much fucked.

I couldn&#x27;t tell you as I am no longer living in Australia. I am a big fan of the American, Lock Up.As for his Father being Greek. With a name like Sacatides you better believe it. He is as Greek as Feta and Ouzo.
