Buffalo, NY

Question

Gonna take a trip from ft lauderdale to pittsburgh to buffalo to toronto... I wana know where the nicest places in buffalo are to stay for just one night. i plan on seeing niagra falls when i go there but i dont care about beeing close to it.. so where should i stay if i want to be around the good food and nightlife.. thanks

Buffalo is a dump, and Niagara Falls is ghetto. Just go straight to Toronto.

Nightlife in Buffalo is really limited. There is a street downtown called Chippewa with several bars, and that is about it. Unfortunately, there are not great choices for hotels downtown. You have a Hyatt which is one of the worst Hyatts anywhere. You also have an Adams Mark which is kind of out of the way. A friend of mine who visited on business stayed at a place called the Mansion which was a converted Mansion and was pretty nice (not sure on the price).

There are good restaraunts all over Buffalo, but I would recommend the Anchor Bar downtown for some wings. It is a tourist trap, but the wings a very good.

About halfway between downtown and the Falls there is a Marriott. They have a bar downstairs which has some nightlife.

In Niagara Falls, USA, there are one or two hotels, and also an Indian Casino with a hotel. If by nightlife you mean gambling, and you want to stay in the US, then this is your place. The view of the falls is a lot nicer on the Canada side, and there is way more attractions.

I would recommend that you stay in Niagara Falls, Canada. Plenty of nice hotels (including a very nice casino/hotel), plenty of bars, and plenty of stripclubs. The gambling in Canada is a little worse than the US side.

If you have a lady with you, then a little drive up from Nigara Falls is Niagara on the Lake, which is overpriced but has some nice stuff.

Make sure you have passports to get into Canada and back. They will let you in without one, but it expedited the process.

WNY  is awesome this time of year ......&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Go see the Falls ... make sure to go to 3 sister&#x27;s island (on the US side )  you can dip your feet in the rushing Niagara River moments before it goes over the Falls /////&#xD;&#xA;If You Like Food &#x2B; Beer  you are coming to the Right part of the North East......Very Inexpensive with HUGE portions&#xD;&#xA;Try to stay away from the Chain Rest.&#x27;s.... SO many excellent Local Mom &amp; Pop Italian Spots.....La Hacienda Brighton and the Buffalo Brew Pub (tonwanda ) are Fantastic .....&#xD;&#xA;The Bars and Clubs are pretty cool... being that they stay open and serve Boos till atleast 4 AM......&#xD;&#xA;The Downtown Buffalo Hyatt just got a Major Update ......But yeah Downtown is pretty SAD other than the Bars on Chippewa (within walking distance from the Hyatt) &#xD;&#xA;Crown Plaza in the falls is walking distance away from the Casino...&#xD;&#xA;On the Canadian side , there is a more upscale casino (fallsview)

He couldnt be more bang on. I live in Niagara Falls, Canada. You are MUCH better off driving right threw Buffalo and Niagara Falls NY, and comming str8 to Canada. You can stay in Niagara Falls Canada or take the extra 1.5Hrs and just head straight to Toronto. Plenty of reasonably priced hotels in NIagara Falls Canada, plus 2 casinos :) Have a good trip

Do not stay in Buffalo.There is nothing there. Just drive straight through and stay in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Much better food choices, hotel choices, and there is a nice casino (Niagara Fallsview- although you have to pay for drinks). Niagara Falls the city itself is not much at all, but it is better on the Canadian side. The view of the falls is much better from Canada as well.

Some good restaurants in Niagara Falls, but Buffalo probably has the upper hand there. He is only staying 1 night though, so I still think that Niagara Falls is the better choice.

It varies, depending on what time of day you want to cross and which bridge you are crossing from. I have crossed in 2 minutes and I&#x27;ve waited over an hour. On average, I would say it&#x27;s 20 minutes.
