I'm talking year round.....I live in upstate NY near Albany so the constantly changing climate doesn't help either, it just adds to the constant runny nose, cough in the morning, sneezing and post nasal drip.
I have tried tons of allergy medicine and they work for 2-3 weeks then its like my body adjusts to the medicine and says "fuck you" to me and the allergies take back over....
Got me thinking....wonder if other people have this problem and what they do to make it better.
I'm actually going to buy a humidifier this week and see if that helps at all.

No animals -cats make me react really bad when I'm around them but when I lived home I had them, we got a dog and didn't affect them. I have since been moved out for years and have no animals but the allergies stay.

I used to be really bad when I was younger, especially with cats. But as I have gotten older, my allergies have gotten much better.
When I was 10 I have my tonsils and adenoids removed and the doctors really butchered up my throat and I almost bled to death a week later, and they had to cauterize my throat. That is one day that I will never forget
Anyways a few years later a doctor told me that many of my nose/throat issues were more than likely due to the surgery that was botched and as I got older my allergies would get better.

dust allergy here. Listen to nbafan, go to an allergist and find the root of your problem. My life has been much better after I have known the cause of my allergies.

I had allergies growing up-my mother smoked ( I don't ) and we had a dog .. got tested .. had allergy shots (some were food related ) in HS . better when I went to school in Miami....came back .. more problems .. 2 surgeries (Free) .. free meds (my friend's dad was an ENT ) to correct a Diviated Septum and Create a 'window' in my Sinus Passage .. several days of recovery and hardly a problem for the past 17 years .. except for Sleep Apnea.. get checked for that too..

Get one of those humidifiers that cleans the air. Go to an allergy specialist, too. A lot of it could be food allergies, strange as it seems. You may or may not need allergy shots. If you do you can give them to yourself, they use small needles, no problem. Be sure to see an allergy specialist for a work up. Get a referral from a friend, a few of them are quacks, you know, be some kind of a religious nut and they will advise you according to the dietary restrictions of their faith. Yes, this is true, just check around first. Good luck. Been there, done that. Got better gradually.
