My kid his 4½ y/o and just love to play tennin and bowling, hell he's on a 200 pin average et bowling on the wii sports.
Rented Mario Cart and he gotr his fun with it too. It's already under the three for him. Lots of fun and never get's tired of these three.....

IMHO if you are buying mainly for the 4yr old, I would hold off a couple years till about 6-7 at earliest. It is not that they won't play it or enjoy it, just don't get the value out of it that older kids to. (Really think 10-11 is best kids age for Wii)
