It's pretty sickening to see what this country has become after seeing and hearing what the men did and fought for in all of America's wars from WWII to the Rev War.
I say a pray every night to all the men who ever fought and served this country.

to all those who have ever fought in the/a war and didnt have a choice in doing so.
Honestly i cant feel too bad for those that WANT to join the military. They know what they are getting into. Like cops.....they know what they are getting into, and they WANT to take the risk. At the end of the day it's a job that you are being compensated for and a job that you CHOSE to do
For those that never had a choice and were thrown out there?![]()

oh boy. Just when I thought I had read the dumbest comment in Covers history, someone else tops it. Whether someone dies in a war because there was a draft and they were forced to join, or if someone decides that they want to put their life on the line to protect the country the love, doesn't make it any less commendable, sad, or deserving of respect and sympathy when a life is lost. If you think that being in the military is just a "job", you need to give your head a shake. I have a friend in Afghanistan right now fighting with the Canadian Armed Forces, and trust me he dosen't see it as a "job". In fact, I would argue that it's even worth more respect when someone puts their life on the line when they don't have to. If I interpret your post correctly, I find it quite ignorant.

Wow, that is pretty interesting putting the Red Army and respect in the same sentence. I will never give anything to do with Russia an once of respect or credit. You do realize that the reason they suffered the highest number of casualties in WWII is from the Russian soldiers shooting other Russian soldiers as most of the casualties were from deserters. One other thing is that Stalin was even more of a corrupt dictator and was responsible for more people being murdered than even Hitler.
The only reason Russia wasn't invaded and put into check right after the war is cuz Eisenhower wouldn't let Patton do it, cuz Patton wanted to invade Russia right after Liberation Day since America had most of it's manpower in Euope already and it was inevitable that America was going to fight Russia someday.
General Patton

Lets be honest...alot of people could give a damn about their country and are strictly in it for the benefits. I appreciate what you did but I certainly wont lose any sleep over it. After all, YOU CHOSE to do this.

When I was in school I knew this kid that was dying to graduate so that he could join one branch of the military [I dont remember]....I kid you not, this kid would get woodies whenever he thought about the training, and battle and etc.
I know for a fact that this kid knew how dangerous it was and he could care less.
If this kid died in the line of battle, I'm supposed to feel sorry for him? I might say RIP but thats as far as Id go.

How come we use to kick ass back then, now we puss out?
this country hasn't fought a proper war since WWII with the possable exception of Korea when MacArthur was the commander. I was a Naval Aviator during the Vietnam mess. completely fucked up strategy and tactics in the air war over the North cost a lot of Air Force and Navy pilots their lives for nothing. ![]()
