I obviously don't have that much money and am not sure how to handle this situation. I know I should do it like a man and don't plan on hiding out. If anyone has been in this situation or has dealt with a guy like me as a bookie, your advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Even if it is a couple hundred a month, he will appreciate that more than getting stiffed- or at least normal people would. He HAD to of known you wouldnt be able to pay 40K. Even stupid people arent THAT stupid. Whatever you do, dont bet anymore. It doesnt sound like you are that good at it and it sounds like you do not have the discipline to accept a bad week. DO NOT TRY AND DIG OUT THE HOLE! You will only go farther in. I have done this on a smaller scale in years past and about one out of ten times it works- not very good odds.
