You gotta give it to the guy.  He had to embarass himself on national TV.  Go home for a 3-day weekend with a pissed off wife.  Comes back to work Monday and opens his show with an 8-minute monologue just ripping himself in the funniest way.

No, I'm talking about the "Goodbye Covers" thread you had started sometime back (like 1 year ago).  Professing your goodbye to covers forever.

No one ever leaves Covers, they either reconsider or they come back like a thief at night with an alias.

We all go through valleys & peaks in our lives.  Dwelling on past mistakes will only lead to future failure.  Taking pride in denouncing someone else is both unproductive & incredibly immature.  Best of Luck to you & your family.

That's not true, I left for 3 months.  I came back because I enjoy discussing relevant topics.  One topic that isnt relevant though is my past topics, posts or replies.  Let's all look to the present & future and not dwell on the past.

I remember your goodbye thread.  And you came back, so you are in the reconsider group.

I was once like the two mis-guided people above.  Used to take joy in mocking others, making fun of them.  Then I spent 3 months in a 3rd world country and it made me thankful for what I have here in Canada.  There are so many productive things we could be doing with ourselves instead of sitting at a computer mocking someone for being different, for being themselves, for having a weak moment.

I started this thread to give a thumbs up to Letterman for how he's handled the situation.  Let's please keep it at that.

Old Dave has been SO HARD on others that got some strange, politicians, actors etc.  I hope CBS fires him, his wife takes half of everything he has and all those that he screwed "at the office" screw him back with lawsuits.  All there "holier-than-thou" jerks irritate me, to say the least.  I admit, right here and now, that I have screwed around and am not just pointing a finger.  I have not raised myself up as a paragon of virtue.  I don't care that he screwed around, I just don't like it that he was so hard on others that did.

Thats why last night he dedicated an entire monologue to mocking himself and he even pointed out how big of a hypocrite he's been....

my favorite jokes from last night:

"how bout that weather, it's cold outside the house, it's cold INSIDE the house"

"i got in the car this morning and not even the GPS lady would talk to me"

Another tale of a guy who spends 3 months in a 3rd world country teach english and comes back a changed man and preaching the good word on to others.  Gimme a fucking break.

Try doing something that might actually change you like moving to Africa for 10 years and working with children with AIDS and then maybe I'll listen.  Almost every loser I've known has taughten English in "South Pacific" at one point or another ... and guess what ... they're still losers.

 Welcome back ris.

Amazing how a Letterman thread turned into a mock thread.

I used to watch Letter Man on Sesame Street when I was a kid. I did'nt know that he was an adulterer.
