ok so here is the story.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;I have a 4 year old daughter who goes to a licenced day care center.   My wife picked up my daughter today like every other.  When she got out to the car she noticed my daughter had something in her hair. My wife thought it was some kind of food. (you know how kids are )  Well when she went to pick it out of her hair she found out it was blood.  My daughter has a gash in the top of her head about 2 inches long by about  1/4" wide. My wife asked her what happened and she said she fell. My wife brought her back inside the daycare center and asked what the hell happened. The lady said she had no idea what had happened. She had just come on duty. The lady who was on before her hadn&#x27;t said anythin to her about it at all.  My wife brought my daughter to the hospital and she had to get 3 staples in the top of her head.     When I asked my daughter about it she said that she was running and slipped and fell and that the teacher had helped her and held a towel on her head untill it stopped bleeding.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;My question is shouldn&#x27;t someone have called us to make us aware of what happened ?  Even if they didn&#x27;t call us  someone should have said something  to my wife when she picked my daughter up.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;This is no cheap facility this place is supposedly top notch. I pay $1500 a month for they daycare and this is the treatment we get ?&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;I am toying with the idea of calling the local tv stations and making them aware of the situation not to mention a laywer.  &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;what do you guys think ?????Disclaimer *****     My spelling fucking blows

when I talked to my daughter she told me that when she fell and cut her head it was bleeding very bad. The teacher came running to her assistance. Held a towel on her head till the bleeding stopped and then put ice on it.   But this teacher never reported the injury to my wife or myself nor any of the other teachers.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;My problem is not with the injury it self I understand accidents happen.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;My problem is that we were never caled and  never told about it when she was picked up.  Seems like they were trying to pull a fast one an hope noone noticed.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;I&#x27;m completely becide myself about this level of incompitance.

If it was my daughter, and she had suffered some sort of permanant injury, or a cut on her face that left a scar only because it was not dealt with properly as soon as it happened, then I would consider legal action. &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;If my daughter cut her head, and the teacher felt by getting the cut to stop bleeding she had done her job because in her opinion she did not recognize that it needed a stitch or 2, I might suggest to her that the next time something similar happens that I would like to be informed. Do I call my attorney??? Absolutely not! Unless of course you are one of those people who view life as an opportunity to get over on the system, then by all means, sue the teacher, the school, the classmates for not doing something, the principal, the teachers union for not demanding their members also have a degree in medicine and plastic surgery, the local fire department for not showing up to help with the emergency, the local police for not roping off the area for eveidence that could be used in your case, the old couple who lives in the house across the street just for being old, the soft serve ice cream man for ringing that friggin bell while your daughter had a head ache from her injury, and everyone else your lame ass attorney can think of ... SUE THEM ALL ... tis the American way.

Your child had a laceration to the head that needed not only pressure stop bleeding but also she should have an immediate CT scan/observation for any internal bleeding or fracture/contusion, LOC drop etc...&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Covers is not the place to find THE local shot for that lawyer..&#xD;&#xA;and yes, this matter should not go without your attention legally.

To me, the question is:1) Are you upset because your child fell and required staples in her scalp?or...2) Are you upset because you were not informed that she fell and suffered a laceration?As was posted earlier- 4 year olds fall, hit their heads, sustain cuts, etc.  That&#x27;s not far from expected.  The fact that a teacher / worker took it upon herself to make a judgement as to the severity of the cut- now that&#x27;s the issue.  I&#x27;m assuming ( hoping ) that your child is fine after this ( other than the 3 staples ).  It seems that the teacher&#x27;s negligence really didn&#x27;t alter the outcome ( could have, but didn&#x27;t ).  Outside of possible payment for medical bills, I would be surprised if you had much else to "sue" for.  On the other hand, the way the center / employees handled the situation was totally unacceptable and should be reported / "exposed". because next time they might not be so lucky.My advice would be to be grateful that your child sustained only a laceration- realize that she was in the care of people with poor judgement- remove her from that center ( obviously )- try to find a better option ( kind of tricky since I assume you believed this was the best option )- and move on.Hopefully this bothers you more than it does your child .

He is upset because he wasnt informed. That is their only fault. He said he understands accidents happen. What he doesnt understand is who the fuck does that teacher think she is to keep this a secret from the parents. Something has to be done about this.

I agree with that.  I think it should certainly be reported, etc- taken to whatever level necessary so that there is not a "next time".  I just don&#x27;t think suing the center makes alot of sense- unless they circle the wagons and refuse to acknowledge their error.

They absolutely have to notify you. You could sue them 100% for sure and get a judgement.  I would not go to the press yet,&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA; Get whatever you can in writing. Tell them you want something in writing from the daycare management stating if she falls again and hurts her head they will notify you. &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;I would never give them my kid again BUT if you get this letter you have an admission of guilt, you need that&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Once you get the letter, call an atty. what they did is a freakin disgrace

The outfit you hired did not properly handle a potentially life threatening situation (in fact it was not professionaly handled at all by the staff you hired . That is known as negligence and/or possible malice.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;A child has ANY laceration to the head we go red an blue on that call strong. Trust me, you aint seen a fire truck move faster with a crew of high anxiety paramedics scrambling on a child with potential head trauma.&#xD;&#xA;Git your ass oughta bed early am and have your child evaluated front back and center for primary and secondary injuries . Then make an appointment with an attorney.&#xD;&#xA;Fuck that place. You don&#x27;t want to ruin them with litigation, you want them to pay for ALL necessary and precautionary evals.

Not sure I understand your question- but I would get the child evaluated thoroughly-

If she was seen in the ER for staples- did they do any other tests / imaging, etc.

I'm not about making grand statements, etc., but the place should be investigated- remedy the situation. I'm not sure a lawsuit would solve anything- and assuming the child is fine otherwise, their error was in not reporting it immediately- maybe a violation of state code for daycare centers?

Try to find out if this daycare facility has any prior complaint. Also try to find out from your child if anyone else or other children saw the incident. If there was others around when it happened, talk to those people and get their versions of how your child was being handled after the fall. To be on the safe side, make sure your kid get a complete physical check up, especially the head. Just because she's ok physically at this time, it does not mean if there is any long term damage.

BTW, remember to write down all conversations (date, time, etc...) you have with whomever concerning this incident. Child safety and adult neglegence are very serious in most state. May be you are not trying to get compensated for this but you still have to bring it out so this kind of things wouldn't happen again, for the safety of other children.

ok so, I called them today. The owner is on vacation this week. I told them that I wanted to hear from her today, No exceptions. She still has not called me back. I called again and spoke with the second in command and demanded to know what happened to my daughter. She told me that she had absolutely no idea what happened ant that she had spoken to everyone else that had been working that day and that none of them have a single clue what i'm even talking about. Includeing the teacher that my daughter told me had helped her at the time of the inncident. That teacher claimed that my daughter had complianed earlier in the day that she had bumped her elbow but never mentioned anything about her head. My daughter ( who is four years old ) told me that the woman looked at her head and heald a small towel on her head till it stopped bleeding. I refuse to believe my 4 year old is making this up. Why would she ? They actually expect me to believe that she mysteriously cracked her head open, a cut requireing 3 staples to close. and No one has any idea what happened ? She didn't scream ? She didn't cry ? And no call from the owner of the business ?

I contacted a lawyer today who has decided to take the case on a contingency basis and want's to fucking hammer the place. That's really not the kind of guy I am. I'm not after any money, I just want a safe place for my daughter to go during the day while I work. But after this bullshit runaround that I'm getting.. FUCK EM' I'm gonna fucking hammer these fucking pricks.

I am also waiting to hear back from this lawyer about the fact that I want to now go to the press and make them aware of what has taken place.

I will keep you posted on what is happening as this thing plays out.

I truly appreciate all of your advice and well wichings and so you all know I we took my daughter to her primary care physician today who sent us to the hospital for a full battery of tests and all of the results have come back perfect. Thank God.

First and foremost, the perfect tests are what mattered. Secondly, if these lowlives want to give you the run-around again, and act like your child magically received 3 staples, and they cant make a 5minute phone call regardless if theyre on vacation, FUCK EM. Hammer them.
