I hate that show...every time I see that wimp...I start praying for a large bear to attack and eat that dummy.
How many cameras does he bring out in the Wild??? He whines like a little girl and starts whining about how Stuff Could happen to him.
I watched an episode, dumbass is eating plants that he did not know if they were safe....frigging dumb.
I don't watch the show but it was on while I was channel surfing and he's up North somewhere and comes out of his tent and dumbass is beside a large area of water and discovers Bear tracks a few feet from his tent. A scout or a kid raised on a farm knows and has more common sense than this bozo will ever imagine.
Oh and I HATE CONNECTICUT HUSKIES TOO

what kind of ignorant fuck are you bud.....i would love it, just love it to see you attempt to pull off the shit he does.....he brings 3-4 cameras with him, 50 lbs he has to carry on his back. i watch the show, he does not wine, he informs the viewers of threats and how to survive in hostile situations. yeah hes not superman, but he doesnt pretend to be, he actually meets with locals when he is prepping for one of these ordeals to find out how to survive.....FOR ALL OF OUR BENEFITS....he doesnt do the show to be some kind of fucking macho man, he does it so we have a chance to make it through something similar, believe it or not, we're all not geniouses like yourself and are glad to be given such vital information, id like to drop your ass in the middle of the fuckin amazon and see how you fare compared to him (think of a knowing a leopard following you for a mile looking to have you for dinner like he went to, or trying to find water in the kalihari desert when trapped there for a week....fuck the ignorance is killing me, you say you dont watch the show.....then dont give an uninformed opinion.........

yeah man vs wild has a cool look to it, but he has someone else doing the camerawork and i dont know the authenticity to it, but it just seems like he makes it too easy, smart dude but survivorman has a more realistic feel to it.

It's a really good show. If you've spent any real time outdoors (ie; for multiple days, and not at a campground), you'd know that it's the real deal. The only criticism I have is Les really need to learn how to fucking fish. It's obvious that the guy really never fished in his life.
That other guy is a complete moron.

SORRY guys but I can't stand Survivor Man - TOO BORING! He might be more realistic then Bear but since this is about surviving in nature what would you rather have a guy that jumps into Freezing water and swims under the ice and then stays at a hotel later that night when the camera's are off or a guy that sits and complains for a week while the camera's role the entire time! BORING
Example - If there was a show about painting a house would you rather watch the one with the good painter that actually shows you how to paint or one where the guy is hanging upside down painting with the paint brush stuck in his ass. It is supposed to be Entertainment...Bear's show is much more Entertaining!!

I think Survivorman is great - Ive been watching it for a while now -its amazing the stuff he does -plus doing his own camera work.
I read an interview once that the helped to produce music videos, etc on a Canadian music program MuchMusic - kind of like the USA's mtv but much cooler with loads better music.
His work at MuchMusic helped with his expertise in doing the survivorman show and doing the videoing/recording.
It takes him about 2-3 months to recover between episodes - thats why he has only done so episodes.

I used to climb mountains when I was younger and tech dive quite a bit (only hike now and mellower diving);
Anyway, here is the deal on these guys:
Both guys are tough and spend time with the locals
learning the territory and what they can eat, how they will survive, etc.. I must say Les is the real real deal though!
When Les starts his mission no support (and his backpack in on average 50 + pounds), unless he calls to terminate his mission which is a eperb gps trouble signal!
Now here is the difference: Bear is a tough guy and all but he walks around with AN ENTIRE TRAVELING HOLLYWOOD SUPPORT CREW! He is periodically assisted (although they will NEVER tell you this!). He takes shortcuts and cheats as well.
If you read the fine print carefully on Man Vs Wild they tell you he gets supports! There is a kind of coverup about this which I do not like! Some of you may recall the episode where he was up in the canadian wilderness and was in a tiny row boat in the water that was sinking. He actually had a wetsuit on under his clothes here!
Also the cameras stopped and started again and you never saw him take the wetsuit off. I was told this from a reliable source; buddy of John Chatterton (big diver) from deep sea mysteries that is on tv. Anyway, bottomline is that Man Vs Wild is more entertaining than surviving with alot of stuff going on behind the scenes, with major editing, and many cuts of the camera back and forth!
Les is the real deal What You See Is What You Get. I will miss him!
Bear Grylls is Hollywood; still entertaining though.

I did some research into this a while back!
I myself and an extreme guy; well used to be!
