What is so different from OSU losing to Illinois then LSU losing to Arkansas?

Now I know this thread won't be popular because 90% of this forum is SEC homers and/or apologists but....

What is so different from OSU losing to Illinois then LSU losing to Arkansas?  Yeah, I know that Ark has one of the best players in the country, but the rest of the team is horrible.  Illinois has better players across the board. 

Here is objectivity for SEC homers: 

Ohio State loses to Illinois - OMG DOES THE BIG 10 SUCK!  OVERFUCKENRATED!!!1  HOW COULD THEY LOSE TO ILLINOIS!!!  BUNCH OF MEDIOCRE TEAMS!!

LSU losing to Arkansas - FIERCE INTER-CONFERENCE RIVALRY!  THESE TWO TEAMS HATE EACH OTHER!  THEY BRING THEIR A-GAME EVERY TIME THEY PLAY!


The double standard is amazing.  On a neutral field Illinois would manhandle Arkansas just like Wisconsin did last year.

lsu should have lost the last 4 or 5

I don't think you can say Illinois would manhandle Arkansas... but that was definately a bad bad loss for LSU.  They controlled their destiny and blew it.

No difference. But the other games that Ohio St played this year including their non conf  there is a difference

Arkansas has a the best back field in the country and could beat anyone on a given day....  Illinois is recruiting SEC talent and zook is gettin great recruiting classes we could see illinois vs arkansas or florida be a great game

Ohio St dominated every other team so I don't understand your point.  This is strange doing this because I hate Ohio St with a passion, but trying to be objective I have to call out this double standard.

Okay, so maybe Illinois wouldn't manhandle Arkansas every game.  But if they played 10 games on a neutral field I think Ill takes 7 - 3 or 6 - 4.

I don't know where to start, 1st Arkansas dominated Wisconsin I watched that game and I still don't understand how they lost. The Big Ten will get owned like every bowl season just look at the lines in every game. They will get points in almost every matchup. The SEC has not had a banner year, they are overall better on all of their worst days than the Little 10

Who is theOhio State win you are most proud of? When you hesitate and have to ponder that you will realize you are basically Hawaii except you run it instead of throw it!

LSU could have lost the last four or five but they didn't.  I'm not saying we deserved the number 1 spot because we have played like shit, but they still managed to win those games.
Are you saying they should be 6-6?
I don't think that's what you meant, but I agree that they were due for a let down with the way they were playing recently.
It sure would be nice if we could have played the Dawgs this year in the SEC Championship.

I hat everything Ohio State too.  Not too long ago they were barely winning games (in the Big Ten) to get to the National Championship game. Perennially Overrated.

Arkansas dominated Wisconsin?  Is that some kind of joke?  We dominated the first half, manhandled McFadden, and our offense moved at will.  2nd half our offense went to sleep, but our defense continued to manhandle McFadden.  ohh yeah, Wisconsin won the game too and there was never a feeling during the game that that win was in jeopardy.

Hawaii and Ohio State* both have the same argument next week. We beat a lot of nobodies and Washington. Hawaii at least beat a ranked team in Boise State. Take some time and look at Ohio State's* schedule when you get a chance. It is awful. In theory, how can you be ranked 2, when you lose to Illinois and beat nobody in the top 25, yet their fans keep screaming about how they belong. It is a sad state of affairs in ColumbUS Ohio. They still think beating Penn State is an accomplishment.

I looked for the numbers with little luck still trying to cap but they outgained Wiskey nearly 3-1 in yards and lost 17-14. Arkansas also turned the ball over several times. I remember Wisconsin not getting a First down in the second half. That's all I meant.

its definitely a double standard. Anyone justifying LSU's loss to Arkansas is being ridiculous.

There is no point in trying to apply logic to it, it is based on the fantasy that a group of people can actually pick who are the best 2 teams in the country.
 
Its not even worth debating, but your original point, along with countless others are absolutely valid but unfortunately dont necessarily mean anything because of the fucked up system.

3-1 in yards?  That's a flat out lie.  The only reason Ark had a higher yardage total was a couple lucky runs, otherwise the Wisco D contained them all day long.  Another reason is that Wisconsin jumped out to an early lead and went into a bend don't break mentality.  heck, Ark didn't even cut it into a 1 score game until the 4th qtr.  Wisconsin never trailed and cruised to a dominant victory.

illini and hogs would be a great game, no way in hell would either team manhandle the other one...both offenses would run all over weaker defenses in a high scoring entertaining game imo.
 
 
one thing i do agree about with bling is the 90% of the board sec cocksucking...it gets old having the same boring arguements over and over again with these fools.

Bling....I have to admit, you are DEAD on.  It's SEC homerville on this forum.  Usually your single emoticon posts make me laugh, all 18,000 of them, but this time you have hit the nail on the head. 
 
People argue all day that the SEC is dominant.  Even the 3-8 teams can compete in other conferences.  It makes about as much sense as trying to sell ice to eskimos.
 
Each conference has 2-3 teams that can play ball in eachothers conferences at any time.  That is precisely why you see so much parity in college football.  But you hear about how college football sucks this year and that we need a playoff system to sort it out (in this less than intelligent forum).  Really?  This type of season is exactly why we WON'T see the playoff system anytime soon....10 teams (at least) have had a shot to be #1 or #2 this year and play in the big one.
 
Exactly what the BCS wanted.  Putty in their hands.  The conferences are closer to eachother than ever.  Look at Missouri/Kansas I mean are you serious?  The Big East?  Big 12? Everyone has had a shot.
 
And some conferences are simply much more overrated than most extra chromosome covers members are willing to admit.

The SEC homers are continuing to live in the past. From top to bottom the SEC USED to be tough and parody was the norm but times they are a changin. There are two things to do in the south, drink moonshine and watch football. When you're drinking moonshine you truly do believe the SEC is still better than the entire country with the pigskin. If that is true SEC homers then answer mw this:
How could a mediocre Pac-10 California team paste Tennessee 45-31?
How could mighty Alabama lose to Louisiana-Monroe at home 21-14?
How in the world could you let a sub-par Soth Florida team beat SEC power Auburn, also at home, 26-23?
If SEC is so tough, how could West Virginia pummel Mississippi State 38-13?
And if the least in the SEC is so powerful, why did BIG-12 Missouri pound Mississippi at home 38-25?
Out of conference your teams are terrible. And when y'all schedule out of conference opponents they are cupcakes. And this year the cupvakes are taking down the mighty SEC. Please answer these questions when sober. Thank you for your consideration.
