how can you say they would struggle against sec. alabama is my alma mater but wv is my second favorite team and they have played sec 3 times in last 3 years and they are 3-0... This year they beat miss st and pulled starters after a half as they had compiled 300 plus yards. They are legit as Miss St d is no push over

and i didnt mean struggle in a negative way... clearly wvu has a lot of talent... i just dont think they are national champs worthy. USC would crush them

how are they crap won at auburn at kentucky???? would say those are two quality wins and croom is turning around that program around.... They beat a good georgia team 2 years ago in a bcs game as their spread offense gave them fits. and would give any team not used to that offense fits.. I think usc is the best team in the country but they didnt have booty for a couple of games and that cost them..

everyone slips up here and there (i.e. Ohio St, LSU, etc) and they did turn the ball over half dozen times and they played with a back up qb most of the game but the had only like 500 yards of offense to south florida 250 or so....

It was 2 years ago they got up early with a huge lead and barely won at the end. It was one of those games where UGA had played in atl 3 games in a row and wasnt motivated.. while WVU was. Kind of like Boise vs Oklahoma last year..

These SEC fans are so misinformed. They assume that WVU is not good because the Big East is a lower rated conference. The SEC has been spewing the (we are a tough conference because we all beat each other) bullshit for too long. The SEC should start going out and playing premiere programs out of conference-- which they never do.
This year they played Cal (got crushed), Missouri (got beat up), and VT (won)..that is it. (This week they do play clemson, gtech, and fsu). So the SEC only plays ACC (the worst bcs conference) and then played two other teams from major conferences and got beat up. A potential SEC champion, Tennessee, got humiliated by a middle of the road Pac-10 team in Cal.
WVU also played an ACC school-- Crushed Maryland and an SEC school-- Crushed Miss State. West Virginia got upended by an up and coming program which at one point was #2 in the country.
I hope all these bashers will please watch WVU play because they do not even need to put the ball in the air to beat most teams.
