games i like listed below...nothing played, my leans are in italics and as always comments and feedback welcome. listed by start time, not by order of preference
UConn +3.5 - Donald Brown comes back...Uconn's RB combo monster will give Lville's defense fits. Big let down for the Cards as well after the big Cincy win.
Indiana +7 - Penn State laying a TD on the road in conference
Nebraska -2 - If there's a big 12 team in worse shape than the Huskers it's A&M. After the shitstorm in Lincoln and the AD firing, i'm thinking Callahan can rally the troops for this one...his job is on the line here, although he probably will get fired anyway. Nebraska's main liability is their pass D. Aggies are a running team.
Notre Dame +18 - Seriously, is USC good enough to beat anyone by 21? They may be the most overhyped, overrated team in the history of college football. How can you start the season as the unparalleled #1 team when you have no wide receivers. They may lose 2 more games.
Ohio State/Mich State under 52 - is this number a joke? i would have set this at 45 which worries me
Illinois +2.5 (hoping to get 3) - this game couldnt have set up any better with UM blowing purdue out last week and Illinois losing on the road.
Auburn +11.5 - i HATE going against LSU saturday night in Baton Rouge but they dont seem as invincible as they did a few weeks ago.
Tulsa/UCF over ? - they could set this over at 70 and i think i would consider the over
Colorado +4.5/over 54 - "paging Titan65" will your Buffs get swept by the state of Kansas this year? Not sure if 54 is the right total but i see it my LVSC column as an opening total. I would set it 58, 59 or so.
this card stinks...not very many BCS conference home dogs and it seems like the less i look at the MAC, WAC, MWC, and Conf USA the better i do
gl all...
Rutgers thoughts...as much as i love thursday night home dogs, i knew going into the season that USF would be the best team in the conference. Their defense is better than RU and quicker. I trust Grothe and do not trust Teel. Rutgers is only effective when Ray Rice can establish the run early. If they can do that against USF they can win, if not then they struggle. George Selvie will introduce himself to the world Thursday night. He may be the best pass rusher in the country...think Dwight Freeney but a little bit bigger.
As of right now, 3 points isnt enough for me to take Rutgers and be comfortable so i'll sit home and root for RU and watch them game.
However, BCS Doomsday scenario would dictate that you need a non-descript BCS team to run the table (USF or BC) and have a lot of the big boys all with 1 loss fighting for the the #2 spot in the BCS (choose 4 from the following: OU, LSU, USC, Ohio State, Oregon, Cal, South Carolina, Kentucky)
