Completely agree. 2 out of the last 3 seasons they've had top 3 recruiting classes. Phil Steele calls them the second most talented team in the nation behind USC. Now they've finally got an OC that can utilize the talent in Jimbo Fisher, and having Chuck Amato back coaching the LB's is gonna help with the D as well.

#5 Posted: 9/2/2007 2:50:54 PM Not sure why everyone is annointing FSU ACC Champs just because they made wholesale changes to their coaching staff. Weatherford has a career TD/INT ratio of 1, the run game has been ranked in the 100s the past two seasons, the OL was 59th in sacks allowed and the Scoring O has been ranked in the mid 40s in '05 & '06. During the same time Clemson went from 50th to 5th in sacks allowed, 43rd to 6th in Run game and from 60th to 12th in Scoring offense.
Clemson is not fielding a bunch of 1st year players. Yes they lack starts, but most of the players starting tomorrow night have been in the system for 2+ years.
FSU is not head and shoulders better than Clemson. I've got Clemson by 4+. |

#6 Posted: 9/2/2007 2:55:04 PM The running attack will hit FSU hard and they may not recover.
Clemson 26 - 20 FSU

i am a lifelong jets fan and al groh can eat a dick for the job he did with us about 10 years ago...he was awful. he was a linebackers coach and nothing more. had no clue about the other side of the ball

#9 Posted: 9/2/2007 3:03:43 PM Weatherford is awful, and they lost their leading rusher, receiver, and top 2 tacklers from a 7-6 team. Clemson outright. |

Is Weatherford a great recruit? Are any of those OL 1st round material? As I see it, the only players worth talking about are the WRs Fagg & Carr.
And you are assuming these guys will hit the ground running on the road against Clemson who has won 3 of the last 4. Care to explain that? |

I hope that man is chewing one down now for being pounded by the cowboys. If the linebacker's coach was at least average, the Jets would have beated Denver in the playoffs. The man should coach some girls flag football team on The Island. PS: I'm on FSU -3.5 |

#12 Posted: 9/2/2007 3:22:12 PM FSU LT Rose is a 1 or 2nd rounder.
Weatherford is probably the highest rated recruit starting in the acc and was ranked ahead of in his class:
Graham Harrel, Nate Longshore, Sean Glennon, Eric Ainge, Brian Hoyer, Curtis Painter, and Rudy Carpenter.

Clemson's LT Richardson is a guranteed 1st rounder. He was all ACC last year as a Jr.
Actually, NCSU's DE Pressley was rated higher than Weatherford in '04 (top 10 vs 88th for Weatherford). |

#14 Posted: 9/2/2007 3:52:33 PM Clemson cant pass at all, especially against those defenseive backs. Look for them to get frustrated through the air and throw some int's. Also FSU will stack the line on many plays, to stop clemson's only weapons ( the rb's).
Fsu 28- Clemson 13

#15 Posted: 9/2/2007 3:56:53 PM Well I was referring to Weatherford vs. other QB's, though I'm pretty sure no team has out recruited FSU the last 4 years in the ACC.
Regardless this will be the first time in 6 years you see a FSU team run multiple formations combined with effective play-calling. No more screen play, delay of game, scat back up the middle, TO, jump ball then punt bullshit. Just how well the OL and QB have the new system down will decide this game.
