I'll start with a rant about the game that gave me my first loss of the year...

Run the ball Tennessee.   Run it.  Hand it off from the Florida 1.  Give it to the best player on the field.  Don't outsmart yourself, because you're not that smart in the first place.  Run the ball.  If it doesn't work, run it again.  If that doesn't work, run it again.   I don't mind when a player messes up.  These are kids.  Most of them have never been in a stadium like that, or in a pressure situation that big.   But when a Coach doesn't do their job and set them up for success, that's when I get irritated about where my money is going.  Back to the games....

UCLA is tissue soft and gonna get blasted in conference

Michigan's offense gets worse every week but is bailed out by the D or special teams.  Is Ty Isaac perpetually injured?  Every movement of his looks painful

Michigan heading to Purdue this week...   They better be able to score about 21.  Brohm's offenses are susceptible to physical defense though

I read that Miami OH had an epic meltdown, I'll let someone else explain how Cincy stole that game

We still have no idea of what Minnesota is

Grad transfer QB's... Cozart from KU to Boise, Tanner Lee from Tulane to Nebraska...  There are reasons why those guys didn't go to better schools in the first place

Duke with late FG kiss off the upright and in...  I'm sure a few hearts stopped there

Oh Clemson...  damn impressive.  Kelly Bryant's deep ball reminds me of Jeff Blake

Oh Louisville... you have to time bounce back, if you want to

BYU is that bad...  means one more bowl bid for someone else out there

WTF happened to Drew Lock?

UL-Lafayette can score, keep an on them in the Fun Belt

Western Kentucky misses Jeff Brohm

154 plays, 1227 yards of offense and only 1 turnover from Tulsa and Toledo

If Luke Falk could only play Oregon State he'd be the greatest QB ever

Different coach, same result in Baton Rouge

Vandy!  Historic upset in the making this week?

Texas...  not too shabby

USC....   pretty, pretty, pretty lucky to escape that one

Utah... getting better every week

Cal is 3-0

Rashaad Penny only had 175 yards this week... what a bum

My 'thinking out loud' question yesteday was...  "Virginia Tech has been good in 2nd halves lately... I wonder how long that's been happening?"..  The answer?

Last 7 games

2017:   21-17, 10-0, 41-0
2016:  35-0 (Bowl) 21-21 (ACC Champ vs Clemson), 20-7

Remember that going forward

Other things...

I couldn't get a working stream of Kent State/Marshall... probably the only person to ever complain about that

How about that Memphis fake FG call?

If I see that Applebee's "Hungry Eyes" commercial one more time I'm gonna break something

Matt Millen is still the worst color announcer ever.  To think a professional football team handed him the power to make decisions is mind blowing

I like the rotating Thursday night booth

Who the hell does Jimmy John's think they are?  This is a Jersey Mike's sport...  get the hell out of here with that pre-sliced crap.   Their cookies suck too

That's it I guess....

Yep, as mentioned in your thread last weak UCLA is soft.  I'm thinking Utah is the team that will challenge USC for the south title.

Cal is 3-0 with a win over Ole Miss which would have been more impressive if that program wasn't in such disarray.   We'll see what the Bears are made of this week vs. SC -- who owns Cal.  Nice to see Wilcox get a shot as HC.

I've made mention of this a few times over the last couple years, & again last week. I saw the talent/pedigree of this guy a few years ago when he came to replace Nick Holt as DC @ Washington after that ridiculous loss to Baylor in the infamous "basket-bowl game". The Huskies went from one of the worst D's in division 1 to a top 35 D in one year. I'm a bit surprised his 1st HC job is at a P-5 school, but maybe that's what he was holding out for. Great hire by Cal. I won't predict their finish this year but they will be a tough out the rest of the way.

Yes, Michigan offense has no flow at all. Moving like a stiff Frankenstein is my analogy.
Ty Issac may have a hairline rib fracture, kinda looks that way. Remember, Harbaugh gives no injury reports.
And Michigan D will have their hands full next Saturday. Purdue could easily win this game if Michigan's O doesn't find some kind of rhythm.
Ohio State getting some offensive flow but how does Army march 95 yards for a td? Thought my parlay was toast.

Overall, the Big10 looks pretty weak this year. No really TOP caliber team. At this point.

Here's my dime (because it's worth 5X two cents)

UCLA is soft, especially in the coach's head. Jim Moron calling a bad timeout before the half, But, Memphis coach is just as stupid. Fake field goal at THAT time? Huh?

Speaking of Jimbo, he fired his entire coaching staff during the off-season, which is basically saying "It wasn't me......." GL with that.

Cal is 3-0, and the reason is the new coach. And this guy brought in some phenomenal assistant coaches. Google that one.

If you took Cal OVER 3-1/2, you're in clover

Know who is NOT great after halftime? OREGON. B2B weeks, 42 point first halves, 7 points, TOTAL, in the 2nd half. 52 points in the first half, and finished UNDER 66..............whjy they call it gambling

............and I'm still hating on Arby's commercials

In my Week 3 thread  I posted a write-up on the CAL / OLE MISS game.....Explaining briefly why I took CAL and the ML even though Ole Miss was the more talented team......A few different factors.

As soft as UCLA is the still have Josh Rosen.  That dude can keep them in almost any game.  Be mindful when betting against them

Great point...  because it leads me to another point.   Once they are fully exposed as a one-trick pony with no running game or defense there will be a point where Rosen says "Hey, I'm going pro next year and I don't need to be taking a beating dropping back 60 times a game"...  self preservation will become a factor.

Love the rant and random thoughts BWS

I watched the last half hour of the Miami-Cincinnati game and it was an incredible choke job. The most critical moment came before a 3rd & 2 for Miami backed up in their own end and trying to kill the clock.

Miami coach didn't signal for a timeout once the play clock reached 1 second (before the 3rd & 2), so the refs called a delay of game. Miami coach got pissed off saying he told the ref beforehand that he wanted the time out at 1 second. BUT, he never signaled for it at 1 second (which you still have to do by rule).

So it turned into 3rd & 7 and a pass play was called. QB Ragland panicked with mild pressure throwing off his back foot and into the middle of the field for an easy pick 6.

Loving what i'm seeing from Cal. This is what i'd hoped for with the hiring of Wilcox. Watching those shoot outs the past few years loses it's luster when they end it losses. It was like watching my Warriors in the late 90's and early 2000's. They would score 125 points....and lose 137 to 125. Great sports weekend for me. Perfect Saturday record, one loss Sunday (damn you, Titans/Jags! Had the under.) Went to the Bears game Saturday and my first Raider game in like 5 years on Sunday. I think Luke Falk has another big game out on the palouse. I wish they had some semblance of a running game but hey, they are coached by Mike Leach.

Michigan offense, the devil is in the details...no relieve to OVER bettors.. defense keeps getting better, and every week improves, the offense just doesn't have the zip needed to be a Big Ten, or National champion....they'll be tested this week @ Purdue +9
