They hosted Buffalo, winning unimpressively 17-7. They started fast, then kind of just dragged out the win, not making any huge mistakes but not doing anything special either. Minny's run defense looked great. Buffalo was in the game all the way through(for the most part) Buffalo is now 0-8 vs the big10.
Fleck got his first win as a Gopher.
One thing that bothers me is that they are using 2 QB's, without one of them being presumed the true starter yet. Croft is a dual threat, so I guess it gives the opposition more to game plan for. But can Minnesota "hang their hat" every week without a true starter?
Now they Travel way out west to Oregon State, for the first time in program history. Oregon State has played 2 games all ready(1-1)
Revenge game, they lost @Minny last year 23-30.
They won on their last drive to beat Portland state with a minute left...good bit of momentum?
Ironically, Oregon State will also use 2 QB's, but when Garretson comes in it's more for running formations. It's an occasional thing.
Oregon State's last game vs Port st was an 11am game, earliest start time in program history, and it was 90 degrees. They should get back in their comfort zone this week w/ the night game. And Minny on the other hand, bodyclocks will be a couple hours ahead.
I think the spread will be somewhere around Minny -9 or so.
What do you guys have the spread at, and what do you think?
