OK ST rolls here.......Yes, I am aware Tulsa beat C MICH and OK ST lost to them last season......I love this particular match up this season.....QB Dane Evans is gone, finally, it feels like he was at Tulsa for 8 years...Evans opened up that offense last season and they will see a drop off I believe...Tulsa "D" is going to be awful this year...They were not very good last season and they have only 4 returners. They lost their play makers they did have.......OK ST scores like crazy here......On the flip side OK ST has 5 starters returning on "D" but they have some highly recruited very talented guys stepping up....There "D" line will be a force this season and I dont see Tulsa running the ball like they did against weaker opponents last year and they will need to without Dane Evans...I see Mason Rudolph lighting up the scoreboard against a weak Tulsa "D" OK ST 45 Tulsa 14

theoretically, I agree with you, but how can you explain Ok St slow starts to begin seasons? Tulsa loses Dane Evans, but they return 14 starters...If this were OU, then sure, no brainer, but Ok St is finesse, and they have 6 starters to replace on D...Montgomery seems like a legit coach...Ok St is in my top 7 for week 1, but I don't fully trust Gundy to play elite caliber football from the getgo, based on past years...what am I missing?

Tulsa is returning 7 guys on "D"......While they made an improvement from the 2015 season they still struggled especially against the pass....They lose a couple key guys and will not stop the OK ST "O".........I dont recall any slow starts or really bad losses except the C MICH game last year......This team seems to win 9+ games.....This team is as good or better than the heir 10 win season last year.....Look out Tulsa

MikesMed - thanks for the take. send me a friend request and/or email and we can discuss offline. maybe that early loss to CMU will encourage them to beat down a non Power 5, with a campus an hour away from theirs. From Athlon, Gundy, seems to think this is one of his better D's especially the D- Line, but I have heard that before...

I agree with you, I know OK State has gotten off to slow starts in the past, but I think this year will be different. They have a senior QB with Heisman aspirations, they're also returning a superstar senior WR, they're also returning their #2,3, and 4 WR's... Justice Hill could be the best returning RB in the BIG 12, and they're returning 4 of 5 Offensive lineman, and the 5th starter is a grad transfer from Cal. I cant imagine Oklahoma State not putting at least 49 on the Tulsa defense.
The one thing that concerns me is that Tulsa runs the air raid, and OK State could have trouble stopping them, but considering this Tulsa team wont have WR's like Keyarris Garrett, Keevan Lucas, Josh Atkinson, or RB Flanders. Dane Evans was excellent in that offense, so regardless of who steps up, I am going to assume they will not be as good at QB, or WR.

Tulsa- with 4 returning OL and a good rb and a new QB and WRS will focus on the run...it will speed the game up...I don't think they will be able to match OK St scoring...I think Ok St pulls away in the 2nd half to cover the DD chalk...

Tulsa should run all over them. 4 oline starters returning (3 projected 1st team all conference), Brewer back who rushed for over 1,400 yards. Either QB can run. Ok St was 82nd nationally against the run and lost a lot on D. 38-31 type game
