Michigan's football team is going on a Spring Break trip next week to Rome and while there Coach Harbaugh announced that he and the team will get to meet Pope Francis April 26th as Pope Francis gives his papal address

You may wonder my thoughts on this and here are my thoughts: I'm angry about this. I don't like the fact that they will and want to meet the Pope. I don't like Pope Francis especially as he opened his pie-hole during the election process basically saying that President Trump wasn't a Christian "Because Christians build bridges not walls" The Pope has NO right to question ANYONE's faith And if walls are bad.... Then Pope Francis should tear his down

My advice to the Pope is Focus a little more on the Catholic Priests who abuse little boys and getting that issue fixed and not worry about President Trump saying mean things. Here's a twitter hashtag that describes my feelings toward the Pope:

#NotmyPope

Also i'm getting tired of Harbaugh

Your thoughts on all this guys?

Both the pope and harbaugh are schmucks but can't argue with doing this. Very effective recruiting tool. They are planning to go to nz south Africa Japan in the coming years.

Dude, I respect you as a capper.  My advice to you is to focus on the good capping work that you do, and stay out of politics and definitely religion.   You have unnecesarily alienated me and all the other Roman Catholics that post on covers.     Pope Francis is trying to reform the Roman Catholic church, and though he is the head of the Roman Catholic church, he is a human being with an opinion.    Most Americans, and Roman Catholics are intelligent enough to make their own decisions with regard to whom they support to be the US President.     I think it is fantastic that an institution such as Michigan would give their players an opportunity to see Rome and other sites of global classical history.   The stop by the Vatican is just one stop on an enlightening visit.       You should refrain from diatribes like this in the future...focus on the football and the in particular the capping...thanks in advance...

sounds like harbaugh should get that young team focused on football. i took a trip to europe in college as a part of a western history class.. surely it didnt help me on the field. hes an idiot in my opinion

harbaugh is an idiot. focus on football jimmy, you havent quite reached the pinnacle, nor has your team. hard to believe a coach thinks that visting europe instead of extra prep time would be a good thing. maybe for a team like harvard, but not at a school like michigan that expects their team to be top 5 every year. which is another reason michigan football has be next to average for 20 or so years.

LHN the Pope DOES NOT have the right to interject himself into our election process. Or decide who is or isn't Christian. If you consider reforming the catholic church to be going to a mosque then that isn't reform. And in my view there is a MAJOR difference between Catholics and Christians

In terms of my Christian conservative beliefs and posting them in different spots i'll tell you what I told others over the last 15 months: If you want me to shut up.... Cut my tongue out or have me killed. Because I won't be silent anymore

Love ya though buddy

Most Spanish speaking people are Catholics so what would you expect the Pope to say? Trump's campaign was viewed by the media and a high percentage of people as anti-Mexican people. I will leave that right there as I dislike talking politics and religion. Just let me say all Americans should be here legally. I do believe in just laws.

Now Harbaugh. I love all the Buckeye pom-pom wavers/shakers on here that call him stupid, idiot, dipscit, never will beat MY buckeyes. You know what, YES he will. And I think you fear it everyday. The man is driven like no one before him. He knows what works and isn't afraid to try something new. Doesn't give a rat's a$$ what others think. I like the guy. Offbeat, no doubt. But when people today think college football, his name and Michigan comes to mind. He already has succeeded. If he was such an intolerable person he wouldn't be getting the great coaching staff he has put together. The guy is respected by his peers, think about that!
I can say I'm sick about hearing about the "great buckeyes". Everytime you turn around it's the buckeyes with all the best recruits. All those NFL picks and they just reload. Yet only one Big10 title last seven years???? All those wins yet just can't get that one that gives them a title.
Especially like the 2012 team that took the punishment for the tattoo scandal. What school rather than vacate the wins of wrong doers punishes those who do right. What does say about what is more important, integrity, or winning? Hmmmm.
That 2012 team went undefeated, no bowl game, no nothing.

dude packers you are a f***ing nut...get some counseling...this a sports forum...please take your unwarranted political/religious hate somewhere else.  if this were closer to college football season, you would get skewered by the more established cappers here...I have tried to be rational/reasonable with you in my post above...now, I am done with you...

Agree entirely. The Catholic Church is layered full of rhetoric, doctorine and surprising language that you will not find in the Jerusalem Bible. They have created 365 false idols (a saint for every day), have created a Bureaucratic way to talk to God, refuse to recognize that you have to have sanctification of your heart, and a change of your Ways rather than just performing tasks, it's unreal. And more than that, sad. The guilt that gets passed down in the Catholic Church is very sad and causes people to see why The messiah came to earth.

I'm sorry, but this is an odd response.  And that choice of words is probably too polite.

Dish internet service being down for the last year & a half at your house is not some of infringement on your right to free speech.

Like LHH said, try to get some help if you need it.  It's too bad you lost so badly on football and basketball last year, but try to keep it together overall.  I for one could do without the politics and religion on a college football forum.  It's a damn college football forum! Please spare us your unsolicited "you may wonder my thoughts on" and then proceed to get into religion and politics after being gone for so long.

What makes you think the season I had LY has anything to do with my beliefs? If you don't like what I post or what I say don't open my threads and comment in my threads

The internet issue I had was being able to access this site as covers the ONLY site I had an issue with

I've said this to people in my life family friends on my social media during games I've called etc if you want me to shut up have me killed or cut my tongue out and get in line with the others who want to

For too long people like me who are Christians and conservative have been told to shut up while this country goes to hell and I won't be silent anymore. And I call anyone including the church

Some people have left my life in the last 12-18 months and guess what? They weren't worth having. I am who I am and i'm not changing

God Bless

Look Packers, the original text I was referring to really reads as something a mentally unstable crazy person would write.  Just saying.  Something to think about next time in terms of presentation.  Speaking of unsolicited opinions, there’s one.   If it was meant to read as oppressed person finally having a voice, there are many other ways (better ways in my opinion) that this could have been communicated.

My jabs about losing your precious covers.com forum voice and losing money last year betting were unnecessary and not the main point I was trying to get across.  The main takeaway that you appear to have missed is:  this is a college football forum.  If you prefer to talk politics and religion over college football or basketball, then that’s fine, just please post those thoughts in the appropriate forum.  This is a College Football forum!

Thanks.

agree on anticipation of college football season.  disagree with your your "objective" perception of this topic.   packers is way out of line here and appears to have some significant personal problems.   He offended me and probably many more.    I don't have a problem with someone calling me out because I have a losing week.  I do have a problem with someone spreading hate with regard to my faith on a sports forum.

I understand that.  But my advice to you would be to get over it.  While this may be a sports forum, it's still an open forum.  People can verbalize what they want, no matter whom it may offend.  You're gonna get pizzed and offended about what others say about your religion.  Channel it into something else.  God doesn't need you to fight His battles for Him.  Speak your mind then move on
