The FLORIDA GATORS seem to love  playing the 3rd game of the season having won 18 in a row straight up.

Tennessee Vols are third game this season.

The MIAMI HURRICANES are 13-0 as dogs of 16 or less points after scoring 14 or fewer points in the previous game.

That's 13-0 to the pay window.

The NORTH CAROLINA TAR HEELS are in games eight and nine of the season.  A bettors dream at 20-4 against the spread. Gm. 8 = 10-3 ATS and Gm. 9 = 10-1 ATS)

The situation fits Virginia Tech and Miami this season.

The PURDUE BOILERMAKERS are money burners in their second of back-to-back home games going 0-10 against the spread.

Three situations this season against Ohio, Minnesota and Illinois.

Thanks for the info.  Good Stuff.     I have done preliminary cap for September.  I really like Louisville at UNC in week 2, for several reasons.    What is your perspective on UNC this season?    Fedora is a solid coach, who will eventually get something even bigger than UNC, but with the QB differential, with it being the first ACC conference game,  and early in the season, I think Lou and Petrino will want to make a statement on the road.   I am staying away from Lou in week 1 against Purdue due to the B Brohm connection with Petrino at W. Kentucky.    I am sure Lou will destroy them, but with NC on deck, if Lou is up by 28+ in the 3rd quarter, on an estimated 22 pt spread for Lou at home, he could take the pedal off the gas in week 1 against a first year coach and his former assistant at W Kentucky.    I think Lou's breakout game will come in week 2 against UNC.  I will appreciate your perspective.  Cheers LHH

Longhorn, two huge elephants I see in this game.  One, Louisville will be starting a Heisman Trophy winner at quarterback (Larmar Jackson) and North Carolina will be starting a rookie in a big game early in the season.  Mitch Tribusky, last year's starter was a first round draft choice recently.  Second, Louisville plays Clemson after North Carolina.  That's big without explaining.  Another factor to consider is Gene Chizik, NC's defensive coordinator retired.  He was a steady force for the D.  Both teams return 12 starters, only one has a starting quarterback returning!!  Louisville will win but by how much knowing that Clemson is on deck.  That's the scary part.

For what it's worth:  Louisville is 8-3 ATS in game two while North Carolina is 1-5-1 ATS.

Did not know about chizek. So a new DC. Though D is not as variable with a new coordinator as O, there will be a learning curve. I don't believe that Lou will be favored by more than 6 points, based on the prelim ESPN FPI. That lookahead is a concern, but the way I look at it, Purdue is a softball, NC is 2 steps up, and Clemson is top 5. If the spread is indeed a TD, that's not enough to take NC lightly or even take your foot off the pedal until well into the 4th quarter. Sure, NC will play inspired at home, but as long as the reigning Heisman winner is on the field, along with Petrino the P***** as Lou coach, Lou will keep scoring. Lou D may be suspect, but I don't think NC has the experience to exploit that...For week two, I also like Ohio State (at home at night, only 2nd game since arguably the most devastating beat down in the history of that great program). I also think for the same reason you cited for Lou, that Penn State, playing at home, with an experienced QB and Heisman contendor McSorley and another Heisman hopeful in Barclay at RB, along with Pitts losses, PS should be able to cover a TD spread in this rivalry game. In addition, Pitt won a tight game at Pitt in week 2 last season. Penn State will be focussed. I know a elder poster on Covers advised me to keep my picks to myself, but these picks are merely my opinion. Right now, here is my first two weeks...(leans, estimates)Week 1@Texas -15 over MarylandAlabama -6 over Florida State - AtlantaLooking at...USC -17 over Western Michigan and Memphis -17 over ULMWeek 2Louisville -6 over @North Carolina@Penn State -7 over Pitt@Ohio State -4 over OklahomaFYI in 2015 I hit 72% for the season through November 15, then tailed off for 64%. Not bad. 2016 was not good. I am in process of evaluating what I did wrong. As you can see, I play predominately favorites, with only 2 to 3 games per week. I need to improve on picking dogs. Its all about value. If you can refer any resources on college football dogs capping, I would appreciate it...Thank you in advance...

The NOTRE DAME FIGHTING IRISH are not very impressive for a gaming man when playing the 9th game of the season.  Not much fight  in the Irish as they have covered only 1 out of their last 12.

Wake Forest will be the ninth game this season.
