Guys I always post the head coaching news around this time every year. This year i'm posting it all in one thread to save time and space.
Rutgers has fired AD Julie Herrmann and HC Kyle Flood went 26-22 at Rutgers{23-24 ATS}and served a 3 game suspension this year iMO much needed moves by Rutgers especially the AD who was a clown

Virginia HC Mike London has resigned after 6 years as HC. He went 28-45 at VA{32-32-7 ATS} I think the VA Job is a hidden gem because London recruited well and just couldn't coach them up
Georgia and HC Mark Richt are "Mutually parting ways" Richt was 145-51 at GA{92-88-5 ATS}. I like Richt{He sent me a signed photo} but it was probably time. IMO he never could live down losing that 2012 SEC title game to Bama especially the way they lost at the end. That was when Bama beat ND by 28 for the nat'l title{GA IMO would've won by 25} Hard to believe you can be a HC at GA for 15 years and not win 1 nat'l title and that's what did him in
Some programs have hired HC's already and they are:
Minnesota a few weeks back named interim HC Tracy Claeys the permanent HC
Illinois gave Bill Cubit a 2 year deal to be the HC. Cubit went 5-7 this year and as an FBS HC is 56-54 SU 46-56-3 ATS. IMO this was a cheap hire by Illinois. They have an interim AD and offering any HC a 2 year deal IMO is a joke
Iowa State has named Toledo HC Matt Campbell as their new HC. Campbell went 35-15 at Toledo{27-22-2 ATS} I think he's the right guy for Iowa State at this time. He's a young energetic coach and Iowa State needs a breat of fresh air in a BIg 12 that's not getting easier. Plus they lost to Toledo this year so if you can't beat Campbell then hire him
Va.Tech has hired Memphis HC Justin Fuente to be their HC. Fuente turned Memphis around going 26-23{27-19-2 ATS} i think its an interesting hire. VT is looking to hire its next Frank Beamer{A coach at a lower tier school who may stay for a long time} My only question about Coach Fuente who i like a lot is how much of the turn around at Memphis was Fuente and how much was being lucky enough to find a gem at qb in Paxton Lynch?
Hawaii has named Nevada OC Nick Rolovich to be their new HC. Rolovich was at Hawaii in 2010 and 2011. I assume the pistol offense is coming to the island. When i made the Norm Chow got fired thread a bunch of us named a lot of names for this job. But like i said then" Hawaii needs to get this hire right because IMO they can't afford screwing up a hire for the 3rd time"
I hope Rolovich is the right guy because a lot of us have a soft spot for Hawaii. I can't tell how mnay guys have said that back in the day they'd be down $500 and they'd bet Hawaii in a WAC game at Home where they wwere a 30 pt fave against NM State and they'd put $1,500 on Hawaii who'd win 65-30. I hope they can be a winner again
Guys if you have any thoughts please share them. The carosuel isn't over yet

Hermann came in after the whole Mike Rice scandal. can't remember if it was a total knee-jerk hire but sure didn't pan out. too bad because the north east could use a few college sports teams to get excited about.
UGA better be holding some good cards for dumpin Richt. whether thats a good move or not they've had plenty of 9 or 10 win "disappointments" to pick their spot....Kirby might be worth it. bonus points for cannibalizing their biggest road block to a conf title. i could see Freeze, or at least i expect Freeze to not be around for the Post-Dak struggle.

it's interesting to see who gets some of these jobs
I'd hire Herman at UH if I were UGA, he has a great young staff with a great defensive coordinator, they are innovative and recruiting machines, that's a perfect fit for Georgia, way too much risk to hire Smart in my opinion

Guy had that Florida recruiting pipeline working and those connections changed the whole RU program. Seemed like a real players coach too with the "tree chopping" thing, had all those RU players all buying in...huge success in the college ranks! I'm thinking Miami where he was D coordinator during the early 2000's "THE U Part II" days or UGA would get a big score if they landed him.

If USC wins the PAC 12 its hard to imagine that USC will not name Clay Helton as the permanent HC.
Another intriguing story line would be what Houston does to keep Tom Herman. He has to be on everyone's radar with the results he's delivered thus far.
I think Les Miles survives another year at LSU. It's funny but don't you think other SEC schools wouldn't mind hiring that guy as their HC?

Good move by Houston to resign Tom Herman, I imagine there would have been a ton of interest in him.
Word is DJ Durkin has been interviewing around, I hope for our sake and his he stays at least another year to build out what he and Harbaugh have started with Michigan's D. In a year or 2 he will be popular name and top of many wish lists.
Kiffen a possibility for Georgia?
How long can Mike Tressel and Harlon Barnett co-exist as Co-DC at Sparty? Both Big10 guys but I imagine one of them might be interested in the UVA or UGA job?

Speaking of which... USC just named Clay Helton the permanent HC!
about a "C" hire
guy gets beat at ND, squeaks by a terrible Colorado team, gets pummeled at Oregon, gets all sorts of defensive/special team TD's to beat an already overrated UCLA team @ USC and now he's the coach?
what a terrible idea, Haden is a great person and seems sharp but he is a nightmare of an AD to this point
Helton will not be the head coach there in 4 years, I don't see it, he won't be able to get them back to being a playoff team in my opinion
I love USC but I don't support this hire like most around there

Jeff Brohm or Lincoln Riley to UVA is my hope, young offensive guys, Brohm has done a nice job at Western and Lincoln is a star in the making
obviously would be ok with Mark Richt, just don't see him being happy there after being with a top tier SEC team all these years
I know what you mean- but Littlepage and Oliver have been under so much scrutiny that I think they will go with a surefire choice this time. It's more a matter of whether Richt would want to retire in Charlottesville or in Miami (where he is an alum).

Haden will be next to go. This is the guy that said Petersen wasn't media savvy enough for the job. Still, I can't completely hate the hire. Theyre playing more physical football. Similar to what Stanford did to them earlier this year. I think for the long term it was a good move. Coaches won't see USC as such a dead end where the risk outweighs the reward. What I didn't like about Helton is that he didn't make immediate changes. Some of the improvements he made were forced on him because of injuries. But let's see what he can do next season.
