I think you are dead balls on... SC with Hoke might save Spurriers azz.... TN not ready for prime time yet.... Florida is hard to place, but they will be much improved and dangerous.... Mizzou, if QB play can win it, they could win east. UGA, It's time coach... It's time to live up to expectations... too many good recruiting classes without the results....

Clemson is one of my favorites schools to follow in CFB. I always root for them and I believe they can break through and win the ACC. But in regards to the SEC being the best conference - they are. They had one down year last year as they had a lot of teams with QB issues. The rise of the two Mississippi schools are proof of that. Look for them to fall back down where they have historically been. Even with all that to being them down they still had a winning bowl record as a conference. But this fact alone should be the "tell" that the SEC is the best. They are always having the match their weaker team in a bowl matchup. (EX. The no.5 SEC gets matched up against the no. 4 team in the bowl, etc. And yet they still have winning records years after year.) That's not saying other conferences aren't good but the SEC brings it across the board. Money, Facilities, Recruiting, NFL draft - All SEC dominated the last decade. The other conferences will have to beat them up for a few years in a row to unseat them. Until then they are still the best.
And regarding texas. I know the state of Texas FBS football programs intimately one way or another. And I told this board last year that the texas program is a dumpster fire - I regret that many didn't listen and lost $$$. Charlie Strong won't last but a few more years. They would fire him right now if they could but the blowback in the media would be huge. He was their 6th or 7th choice after being turned down by other Coaches they approached. He lacks the charisma of Texas A&M Coach Kevin Sumlin and just can't compete. The High School coaches in the state of Texas don't care for him so he is forced to try and pull recruits out of Florida. And that hasn't been successful with AL Golden at the U of Miami now. When Strong was at Louisville the The U was a Dumpster Fire so the recruits were there to be taken, not anymore. Atleast Charlie got a big payday, though. texas will have to pay him $25 million to be a losing Coach.
texas' arrogance and the longhorn network deal was their undoing. They are now down across the board. Everything has fallen off in Austin. Money, recruiting, facilities, NFL draft, everything. And there is one reason for that - When Texas A&M chose to take it's destiny in it's own hands and joined the SEC the entire landscape in the state of Texas/Oklahoma changed. A&M now has all the momentum across the board. Money, recruiting, facilities, NFL draft and now size (Texas A&M is now has a bigger enrollment that texas). Texas A&M is marching towards a SEC Title and a National Championship within the next 5 years, imo.
