Wanted to post my thoughts to see if anyone else is looking at this... I also want to preface this by the fact that I follow Colo St, closely and pretty much watch them on a weekly basis, so I am pretty familiar with them. And no, I don't bet on them every week, I was on Wyoming + 19.5 last week as I knew CSU would be up big and that pass defense could possibly allow a back door cover (it did...)
SJSU pass defense rated #1 in FBS. Looks to be a mirage as they have played a lot of predominately rush oriented teams and given up a ton of rush yards to them.
Auburn (rushed for 358 yds, 7.2 ypc)
Minnesota (380 yds, 6.6 ypc)
Navy (423 yds, 6.2 ypc)
They even gave up 5.3 ypc against a sorry Wyoming team ranking 101st in rushing yards game...
Who needs to pass against these guys with numbers like that?
Although Colo St. predominately looked at as passing offense, they have 3 capable running backs in Alabama transfer Hart, and Juco transfer Jarrells, who both have multiple 100 yard games and a bruiser in Oder Jr... could be a big day for all 3...
Colo St weakness is pass defense. SJSU Qb looks capable, but have only seen him against Navy and a weak UNLV team.
My lean right now is to lay the 7 with Colo St. as they are very balanced, and knowing they have a shot for the MWC title so their will be no let down after a "rivalry" game that was over 5 min in to the 3rd qtr last week...

You are right Thorpe, a lot of times they do tend to make games more interesting than they should.
That yardage in the common opponent did stand out for me as well. In Colo St.'s case they were up in that game 31-3 and then just took the foot off the gas, had a bad turnover, and before you know it, it was a game. Keep in mind this game was also in Reno, not usually an easy place to play and Colo St. dominated for the better part of 3 qtrs.
For SJSU against Nevada, a 2-1 yardage advantage and they still lose by 11... I see there was 3 turnovers for SJSU, but with that yardage advantage you still thought it would have been closer than a 2 score game. This game was a home game for them as well.
Any thoughts on SJSU's QB and WR's? I believe this is what the game comes down to.

SJSU +7 is a play for me this week. I like the Rams and have made some $ betting them this season but 7 points is too many to lay on the road against an improving Spartan team. BOL

I would have to project 38-55 and 350 yards. They have had two good games in a row, completing 300+ yards and 70%. If Col St gets a big lead SJSt will throw all day.
I don't see SJSt quitting and I don't see Col St playing 4 quarters unless they have to. I could see them winning 35-17, then giving up two late TDs to win 35-31.
Over 55 may be the better option, or Col St team total over 31 (when it comes out).
