Sharkattack I did watch all of them but as I said I have a hard time believing in luck. The A&M game they made the plays to win. They were a little lucky manziel had to sit for some of it but they finished the game and manziel even had one last chance and couldnt get it done.
The bama game its their own fault. They werent prepared for that at all. Saban is too good of a coach to make a mistake like that. So yes auburn made the big play to win.
However the Georgia game was luck. Idc about the game as a whole. Im not 100% sure but I think Georgia was down and made a huge come back. But come on the guy literally didnt even see the ball. His hands happened to be in the right place at the right time on that catch. Auburn did deserve to win but nothing about Georgia coming back was luck. That Auburn play was.

First... Manziel was on the sideline because Auburn beat the living garbage out of him! Nothing lucky about that!
Second... you can't boil the entire game down to one play simply because it happened at the end of the game, and then ignore everything else that happened. Georgia's final TD was not legit... so the last play SHOULD have never happened. UGA was given a 4th down TD despite not crossing the plane of the goalline... so why are we breaking this game down to a single play that never should have taken place?
People just want to simplify a game... I look at the entire picture. Auburn dominated Georgia... but once they got up by 3 TDs, they thought it was in the bag, and Gus treated the 4th quarter like it was a scrimmage... he started throwing the ball all over the place, when all he needed to do was continue running the ball. If he had done that, Auburn would have finished the game with over 400 yards rushing. Georgia was lucky that Auburn got cocky after making them their girl for 3 quarters.
Sorry, just can't look at that game from a holistic standpoint and make any sense of claiming Auburn was lucky. The last play was lucky... but they pounded the crap out of Georgia. It was obvious Gus was trying to work on some plays from the end of the playbook, because the domination was so thorough he didn't consider it a possibility that UGA could get back in the game.
Play that game again and Gus does not make that mistake. But again, it's all moot, because Georgia was given a TD that they didn't score.

No. No luck involved there whatsoever. Happens all the time. Missed FG brought back 100+ yards............I see that so often I fall asleep...............right..................no luck at all...........
What's funny about this is that people seem to think Alabama would have won the game if Auburn doesn't get the 100 yard return. That's ludicrous! I had Auburn ML in that game and once Bama lined up for the FG I was standing in line to cash my ticket. There's no way Bama was winning that game once it went into OT. No way!
The 100 yard return only mattered in the sense that it made for a spectacular finish... but that game was ending one way, and one way only!
Again... this simple-minded perspective where we only look at the plays at the end of the game, but forget about the big picture, has very little to do with reality. Auburn out-played Alabama. Why does a 100-yard return mean somehow that Alabama deserved to win?

As I posed it to OTM... if Auburn doesn't get the hail mary in the Georgia game, Georgia would have been the recipient of the single luckiest and most undeserving win of the CFB season... so how can you argue that Auburn is lucky for winning, but Georgia would have been lucky for winning, too? It's nonsensical!

So, if Georgia wins, it would have been " the recipient of the single luckiest and most undeserving win of the CFB season"
but if Auburn wins, it's all skill.
I must have missed a ton of football games, because I just haven't seen TIPPED Hail Marys, and missed field goals brought all the way back with no time remaining. You must give me the name of your cable company.......

Hawk... was Auburn the better team that day or were they not? You're too smart to think a game boils down to 1 single play.
Incidentally, if Auburn doesn't return the FG 100 yards, it's still a tie game and goes to OT. Why does Auburn suddenly not get credit for the win simply because they win on that play instead of winning it in OT?

If Auburn doesn't return the FG for a TD in the Bama game, it goes into OT, where they still have at least a 50% chance (personally I think it was more like 90%).
If FSU doesn't get their kickoff return for a TD in the NC game, FSU has a 0% chance of winning that game.
And yet, I almost never hear anyone suggest FSU was lucky to win their game. And take it a step further... there was very little lucky about the actual play in which Auburn returned the FG for a TD, as they set up the return, and he required no actual luck getting down the field, but in the NC game, FSU needed an Auburn player to pull up with a hamstring injury RIGHT IN FRONT of the kick returner.
FSU got far more lucky in winning the NC game than Auburn did in winning the Bama game! FAR MORE!

Shark your obviously a big auburn fan or you get way overheated too easily. I'm not arguing I'm just stating my opinion. They were not a better team than bama or fsu. They did what they needed to do and beat bama. It was a great play. It wasn't luck just a flat out smarter and better executed ending to the game by auburn. The Georgia game they got lucky to win. They were better than Georgia but they still got lucky. This is a pointless argument. I don't believe believe they go over 9.5 games this year. I could be wrong they are a top 5 team. Again just my opinion.

How about the four games they won despite being on the losing end of turnover margin?
That ain't good coaching.
That is Luck.
Winning a game, or even four while losing the turnover margin is not necessarily all about luck. Teams win games while losing turnover margins every single week in football - multiple games every single week.
How but this: 3-9/0-8 to 12-2/7-1 in the toughest division in football. However you or anyone else wants to spin it - that ain't luck. That's as great a coaching and turnaround of player effort and determination as you will ever see in your life. Don't spend an overt amount of time focusing on a play here or there you consider 'lucky.' What Auburn did last season from the year before with the same guys was incredible and was 9 parts busting their @$$ to 1 part 'luck.'
As for the under on the 9.5, see my post earlier in this thread - AU is loaded with returning skill and experience and there are a lot better season total bets on the board ...

I definitely agree there's better bets but taking the under on a team playing an sec schedule is never a bad bet even bama at 10.5 they basically are aloud one slip up. With a new qb I cld see them going under

Shark your obviously a big auburn fan or you get way overheated too easily.
Prior to last year I would actually say I hated Auburn as much as any program in CFB, due to the Cam Newton horseshit!
But, I don't care who I like or who I hate... like/dislike has no place in CFB! Auburn was the best team in CFB last year, and I will be surprised if they aren't the best team in CFB again this year (barring injuries).
The "you must be a homer" mentality is too prevalent on this forum. I like no team and I dislike no team when it comes time to make a bet!
