Look at both teams schedules and opponents this year....2 things stand out to me... and some bullet points
A.) FSU has not been challenged in one single game this season with the possible exception of the BC game
How will they react and play against an opponent that's on reasonably equal ground as them talent wise?
They have the Heisman winning QB and a general expectation that they will completely dominate every part of the game. In a National Championship game, this expectation can be a catalyst for tremendous pressure if and when they are actually challenged.
B.) AUBURN'S schedule and quality of opponents are significantly stronger across the board ...I don't believe that it's even close actually
It's clear that the Tigers are "battle tested" with quality teams running all kinds of different offenses... and have proven that their offense is explosive and can score against elite defenses
The power and motivation in a locker room when you're told that your team is a 10 point underdog and not on the same level talent wise as FSU can be incredible and often times tends to give teams a bit more octane to their performances
Certainly nobody knows for sure how either team will start out tonight. With a million factors to consider and the game time adrenalin maxing out causing a range of unbelievably great plays to foolish mistakes...I don't believe that either of these offenses will be slowed down tonight...way too much talent for both teams.
But having said all that, I really do like Auburn in this spot...with nothing to lose, and an underdog chip on their shoulder and every bit as talented as this FSU squad in my opinion. They've evolved and grown as a team all year long with consistent noticeable progress while being challenged by opponents at a championship level.
Give me the Tigers +10.5 all day and the over 68.5

According to ESPN's strength of schedule metric, FSU has the worst
schedule strength ranking (No. 64) of any team to play in the BCS
National Championship in the past 10 seasons. The teams with the
next-worst SOS rankings (2006 Ohio State, 2007 Ohio State and 2009
Texas) each lost to SEC teams by at least 14 points in the national
title game.
On the flip side, Auburn has a SOS ranking of No. 29 and has
a chance to become the first team in college football history to win
three consecutive games against top-5 teams, having defeated then-No. 1
Alabama and then-No. 5 Missouri in its past two games.

Only team to beat Auburn was LSU, and if they would of had a good start, they would have.
AUBURN +10 1/2
Agreed, LSU was the 3rd or 4th game of the year ...Gus was still trying to work this team into their own identity at that time...In my opinion, they've grown as a team since September

the talent levels are FAR, FAR from equal. You are buying the SEC hype.
FSU has at least 9 NFL Draft top 3 rds picks on defense. Maybe all 11.
Winston may be the best QB in a generation and he's throwing to 3 NFL WR's and TE.
not going to declare an FSU rout....but if this game is close it's not going to be due to the talent levels being equal
I disagree.... your statement is very subjective ....as is mine saying they are equals in terms of talent....But here's one thing I think that we can agree upon;
This Auburn team will be the most talented team across the board position wise that FSU has faced all year...lets see how it plays out

nice write up could be but auburn won two they should have lost more talent and more pro players on fla st regardless of there schedule GL
yep...They should have lost both of those games...but for a lot of reasons, luck included, they didn't.... which is part of the battle tested, been to the edge experience
