Just to help the forum, I like to keep a running track of the conference records during Bowls. It's one of my favorte ways to improve my feel for the games as we go. Since we are getting ready for high gear tomorrow, here is what I have so far. (Please feel free to correct me if I have missed anything or add what you have learned 1st Note is that only 1 game has had a SU winner that failed to cover (ND/ Rutgers)
Pac12 (3-1 SU and ATS)--Nice start, which of course would be 4-0 if Mike Leach hadn't had his head up his ass...Lots of chalk for them the rest of the way though as the competition gets tougher.
MTN West (3-2 SU and ATS)--Solid work for an underrated conference IMO....I still want no part of the UNLV vs. N TEXAS pillow fight that's left on the slate though..
ACC (3-2 SU and ATS)--This surprises me so far, as I was not impressed with several schools in reg. season...We will know more quickly with GT, BC, and DUKE playing in next 2 days...I am STILL not buying into it..
CUSA (2-1 SU and ATS)--We already knew ECU and Marshall could light up the board with points, but does it matter vs. MAC school, and a very inconsistent Maryland? I don't see how it warrants backing RICE vs the SEC or MTSU against the best option QB I have seen in years.
BIG12 (1-0 SU and ATS)--Snyder with a couple weeks to prepare for a Frosh QB...which leads us to:
big10?? (0-2 SU and ATS)--This is just not a surprise and could be the tip of the iceberg...like Clubber Lang said in Rocky 3...prediction? Pain....Ohio St is the only one worth backing IMO
Sun Belt (1-0 SU and ATS)--UL Laf is hardly worth getting excited about, BUT Ark St might be a nice idea + more than a TD versus a school from the >>>>>
MAC (0-4 SU and ATS)--What a shame there's only one of these teams left to fade in a bowl! Ball St has scored lots of pts this year, but then again which MAC bowl team didn't vs the garbage defense played all around. (Except Buffalo's LB- Mack)
AAC (1-2 SU, 2-1 ATS)--I actually give Cincy a pass here with no starting QB for the Belk bowl, and L'Ville looked good, but Miami was a joke, and part of why I still think the ACC is a fraud. Rutgers covered and the final was misleading IMO, as ND scored 2 times late, so I am looking hard at both HOU and C. FLA.
That of course leaves us with 1 that is yet to play....CarterSEC...please jump in at any time
